Clouds, cool air to arrive following a 'very warm' Tuesday
Temperatures are expected to climb into the 70s for the second consecutive day Tuesday, about 5 to 10 degrees above normal for early December, WRAL meterologist Elizabeth Gardner said.

The warm overnight temperatures and unusually high humidity caused fog in some spots during the morning commute, but not major delays were reported during a six-hour dense fog advisory issued by the National Weather Service.
By lunchtime, partly cloudy skies will accompany temperatures in the upper 60s, Gardner said.
"We're still in our warm pattern and southerly flow, so we'll see highs in the low 70s again Tuesday," she said.
A cold front will move through the Triangle Wednesday, spawning rain showers in spots while also sending temperatures down toward December averages.
After highs reach into the mid-60s Wednesday afternoon, temperatures will struggle to break the 50-degree mark Thursday and remain in the upper 50s again Friday. Overnight lows will also cool, falling into the mid-30s Thursday and Friday morning.
"We'll notice a big change Thursday as our winds shift and we see that northerly flow," Gardner said.
Spring-like afternoon highs in the 70s will return this weekend, as will pleasant overnight lows in the upper 40s and 50s.
