My name is Molly Brinks, but most people know me as Vivienne Foxx, bestselling author of chance meetings, stolen glances, and the much-needed happily ever after. My addictions include coffee, home improvement television, and the occasional pint of ice cream. The love of my life is an eighty-pound labrador retriever named Pee Wee.

At the age of twenty-nine plus one, I am at the top of my game…professionally. My personal life is a completely different story, one best left untold. Success has its sacrifices and I’ve been more than happy to put my search for Prince Charming on the back burner while I create fictitious tales of the naïve virgin, the broken girl with a torrid past, and the strong-willed student finding their own Mr. Right…

Until one hell of a case of writer’s block and a tight deadline set by my publisher forces me outside of my cozy downtown Boston apartment in search of inspiration.

Armed with an account on every dating website out there, I devise a plan… Meet some nice, professional men. Go on a few dates. Hope one of them has the spark I need to finish my book. Then walk away.

But plans are meant to be broken.

My name is Molly Brinks, and this is my story about Writing Mr. Right.

4 "Real Love Isn't Real Life" Stars

 photo nosuchthingaslove_zpsziwwflee.gif

Ever wonder what it'd be like to be one of your favourite smut authors? T.K. Leigh has given us a funny take on what it could be like. This book is filled with LOL moments and sarcastic humour which I enjoyed.

A dick was still a dick, regardless of whether it pissed in a gold-plated toilet or a porta-potty.
 photo hahagoodone_zpsv22ph8g0.gif

Although this wasn't really what I typically like as it's a little too 'straight' for me, I am still giving this 4 stars as I felt it was done well and because it gave me lots of giggles when I needed them.

Molly is thirty, single and writes smut but is suffering from her first writer's block as her latest 'muse/man' just walked out the door. Molly liked to have a different 'muse' for each book preferably one that had the same profession as her newest Hero. I enjoyed all her antics and planning that went into getting these men. She drags her best friend Brooklyn with her and sometimes her brother Drew, poor Drew hears things about his sister he shouldn't have too.

"I'm not willing to change who I am for anyone, regardless of the size of his one-eyed willy. The man will want to listen to me talk about my vagina in all its states - bloody, wet, dry, hairy, shaved."

 photo dr_zpscfzxrs04.jpg

Noah is Molly's dads neurosurgeon, it was fun to reading how Molly slowly lost her 'love is not real' attitude as these two became closer. So this brings me to the part I really didn't understand, well I understood it but it just annoyed me A LOT!! I DO NOT find dating your father's doctor as taboo, it may cross some ethical boundaries but come on to make it such a big deal that got to me. Anyway Noah was hot and there was heaps of sexual innuendo in this book obviously with Molly writing smut but not enough actual sex, when it did happen it was hot as hell though.

 photo kissing_zpsorbbsrow.gif

I fell for all the characters in this book pretty quick and the dynamics between them all. Molly's brother Drew and her best friend Brooklyn have a great story brewing just not sure where the author will take that one.

I‘ve been kindly given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

4,5 stars

Funny, witty, clever and moving story.

This is my first RomCom by TK Leigh. I’ve read her Beautiful Lies series and really loved it.
happydance

In a tiny nutshell:
Writing Mr Right is about Molly, successful smutty writer and her quest for a muse. She’s successfully published several books but lost the spark somewhere in between.
“It was all the same. Girl meets boy. Girl has no interest in boy. Boy is sexy, perhaps a bit of a player. Girl lands on boy’s dick and miraculously falls in love with boy. Boy says he doesn’t do romance, but something about girl, perhaps her gold-plated vagina, makes him change his player ways. Then they live happily ever after and fuck like bunnies well into their eighties.”
As it turns out Molly has quite a mouth on her and is disillusioned about “true love”. The plot centers on her chase for inspiration through the perfect muse.

My thoughts

First praise: Writing Mr Right may be a romantic comedy filled with witty banter and laughing chunks it certainly does not lack depth.
TK Leigh successfully features some heavy topics like Alzeihmer in what is essentially a light hearted book while keeping it real. She does not sugarcoat what this illness does to families. You’ll get the full impact of losing a beloved member of your family to this illness. The person may be physically present his/her mind has taken a definite leave of absence.
It was heart breaking witnessing Molly trying desperately to connect with her father. She was the doting daughter everyone would wish in his/her old age. No rainbows for this topic just down to earth description.

So this is a high feat combining lightness and gravity. Finding the perfect balance between hilarity and poignant.

Second praise: turning something everyone aspires to into the worse main character’s fear: love. Who would have thought love could make strong women cower?
For all Molly’s bravado and independent woman speech she is frightened to death to be vulnerable. To be left behind. Better not loving than being crushed by love.
TK Leigh chose to feature a very strong and raunchy women hightailing at the whiff of love scent. It takes an extraordinary man to get the girl! Molly had just to find her Mr Right all along trying to avoid any serious commitment.

Third thing I loved about the book: the role reversal.
Usually we have a womanizer chased by woman ready to tie down her ovaries to the hottie. Now the person leaving others in the dust is Molly! Molly is a successful erotic and smutty romance writer not believing in romance. I adored this paradox. Blazé Molly writing books so convincing about insta- love/lust when she was a love dis-believer :-). So far she’s used men as muse for her books.
It has definitely a very interesting tone as she had to (yes, had to) try a variety sex positions and naughty toys. What a woman would do for the sake of her craft LOL!

Fourth thing I adored: Drew and Molly’s family.
Molly comes from an Italian family with all that entails. Family lunch with boisterous laughters, aunts meddling with your private life and a perfect big brother, always the loyal protector! I’m an only child and I often dreamed of having a big brother. He would have been just like Drew! Protective, caring, always present.

Five: Molly’s mouth!
Molly has an extended vernacular when it comes to sex. She was downright funny and provocative and I loved her very imaginative phrasing. Just to give you a small sample of Molly’s peculiar expressions: “Clamjammer?” He lifted a brow. “It’s the female equivalent to a cockblocker. You, Noah McAllister, are clamjamming me right now.”

And of course Noah was just the perfect boyfriend.
He now sits in my personal book boyfriend pantheon. He was smart, considerate, tender, savage and commending sometimes. “Not only was he quite nice to look at, he had a beautiful heart.”

So this book is filled with humor (you’ll be a master at naming penises), romance (yes, yes I assure you), tenderness (between Molly and Drew, Molly and her niece), sadness (when Molly witnesses her father fading away day after day) and … hotness (because Noah is just like a sex God ;-)).
The big lesson is plans are meant to be derailed.
One of my favorite quote (just because I can): ”Maybe I had been subconsciously waiting to find a man who would treat me the way a woman deserved to be treated…like a queen in public and a goddess in private.”

Last some anecdote: TK Leigh really cracked me up with her warning about suing our butts if we ever sold the ARCs as she is a lawyer and… If I laughed reading it I so agree with her as I find despicable stealing other’s work. You have to know authors work long hours and sweat blood (kind of) to write their books. Selling their baby illegally is just so wrong I can’t express my outrage enough. Unfortunately that’s something happening from time to time. So yes Tracy I laughed reading your warning but I wholeheartedly agree with you.

As a T.K. Leigh virgin, I didn't know what to expect.

Now that I've finished this book, I'm sooooo happy that I got a chance to read this. It's cute, funny, and meaningful. I couldn't put this down.

Molly is a romance author that has the case of writer's block. Her temporary male muses usually do the trick, but she's tired of writing the same books. She wants to write more than just steamy sex scenes.

Although her novels are filled with romance, she personally doesn't believe in true love. But fate introduces her to an irresistible doctor.

“Maybe I had been subconsciously waiting to find a man who would treat me the way a woman deserved to be treated... like a queen in public and a goddess in private.”

Noah is a handsome doctor that understands Molly's quirks and jokes. He's the perfect match for Molly. He tries to just be friends with her, but he can't fight the irresistible pull towards her.

I absolutely loved the build up between the characters. I couldn't get enough of their funny comments, cheesy jokes, and hot chemistry. T.K. Leigh knows how to properly use meaningful sex scenes.

I also loved the side characters, and I can't wait to read more about them. The only thing that bothered me was Molly's reaction towards the end, but overall I really enjoyed this book. This is definitely a story that I'd read again.

Gosh, what a drama ilama. Molly, our FMC, has got to be in the top five most narcissistic book heroines. Nothing, and I mean nothing was ever good enough, I developed a bonafide migrane while in her head. Le boo hoo.

Anyways. I'm in the process of skipping from35% to 70% or else I may need a cool cloth for my head. And we can't have that now, can we? Sigh

When I started this book I thought it was going to be a romantic fluff book. A little funny, a little romance and a predictable plot. I was so wrong and I’m so glad! 😁👏🏻
This book has excellent characters with a very strong romance that doesn’t take a predictable path at all. How can it? Molly is a romance writer who doesn’t believe in true love.
A very good book! You’ll laugh in a few places and you may cry in a few more. I’m glad I took the time to read it. 😊

I absolutely loved this story! I have never in my life laughed out loud this much while reading. So much so that my husband would look at me and I would just have to tell him the S@#$ that was coming out of Molly's mouth!
"Real love isn't real life."
That was the Motto Molly lived her life by. When she finds herself stuck with-out a Muse for the story she is writing she starts a very interesting journey and takes us on an adventure filled with laughter and lots of times when you may want to throw your Kindle at the wall.. BUT DON'T because you wont get to finish this great read and find out how it ends. Will Molly finish her book in time? Can she ever move past her motto and become happy? Or will she keep searching for Mr. Right in all the wrong ways? You will just have to read to find out!

Writing Mr. Right
By T.K. Leigh
4 Stars

Well my goodness Ms. Molly Brinks! What a life you have had at your twenty-nine plus one years. Now trying to get a book written by her publisher’s deadline, she is suffering from writer’s block.

“Real Love isn’t Real Life.”

Being raised by her Father and falling under the radar by her famous hockey star brother, Molly has never experienced love. Her mother left, Her brother’s wife left…. things happen in 3’s… She will not be the 3rd!!!

“A dick was still a dick, regardless of whether it pissed in a gold-plated toilet or a porta-potty.”

This book had me laughing out loud, wanting to toss my kindle, and finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel. But with all that, I felt as though the book dragged on at points. Will definitely read For the Love of Brooklyn-coming in 2018!!!

I really enjoyed the story it is so different from what I have read from T.K before but it was still good. T.K brought these characters to life through her words... I laughed quite a lot; it also played on my heartstrings in parts.

I did like the story, I love how molly grows more as the book went on and how she would stuck up for herself over certain things...

Her name is Molly Brinks, but most people know her as Vivienne Foxx, bestselling author of chance meetings, stolen glances, and the much needed happily ever after. She gets her inspiration from real life experiences with take us on a journey with her. She does not believe in love. She is on every dating site out there she meets some nice men hopes there will be a spark so she can finish her book then she walks away that is. Until she meets her next muse but she does what she does best and tries to push him away when he gets to close. She also is struggling with family problems, which did make me feel for her.

I loved all the characters in this book it is well written and it will have you turning the pages to find out how it will end. I cannot wait to read about some of the other characters in the next book.

Title: Writing Mr. Right
Author: T.K. Leigh

4 unexpected stars

I can't count the number of times that i laughed while reading T.K. Leigh's latest release. More than once i found myself re-reading a passage just to make sure that i had gotten it right the first time only to find it funnier the second time! Writing Mr. Right took a spin of what an author's life can be and made it captivating and oh-so delicious.

4.5 sexy dreams

Molly was snarky, hilarious and so my kind of woman that i couldn't get enough of her. She embodies exactly what i'd expect from any aspiring author, especially when it comes to the use of muses! But what surprised me the most was just how vulnerable she actually is, especially when it came to Noah. That aspect of herself (the one that she keeps as hidden as possible) was what allowed me to really connect with this story. I really did enjoy this book, it was inventive, humorous and a heroine that just begs to be listened too! I know i'll be reading more from T.K. Leigh in the future!!

I've gotta be honest here, a LOT of this book rubbed me wrong. The heroine was incredibly naive and immature for being thirty (NOT TWENTY NINE PLUS ONE - seriously!). The way the hero assumes she has the same feelings when she has only indicated she wants to get laid.

A lot was wrong for me.

But I enjoyed how she grew up. I enjoyed that she stuck up for herself and put out something she was proud of even if it had some nasty consequences.

So I am giving this story three stars.

Ugh, nop.... no me gustó.

Writing Mr. Right by T.K. Leigh a sublime five star read. This is a standalone romance with some comedy that will have you laughing out loud, but there is a darker side to the story that will keep you reading. I loved reading about a writer who faces battles we all do every day. It was real and honest and made me giggle like a loon.
Molly Binks is a woman much like myself, she has an alter ego that she writes with her is called Vivienne Foxx and Vivienne is a bestselling author of what Molly calls smut, but Molly has a deal with a publishing house and that’s what they want, she just wants to write. Professionally she is a success but personally she’s not doing so good, at twenty-nine plus one years of age, (as thirty is the equivalent of Voldemort to Molly) Molly finds herself behind a deadline and in need of a new muse. Setting out with subscriptions from several dating websites, including one that she should have read the description for better. Much hilarity ensures as well as some jealously that she shouldn’t feel, as Mr Right is so, so wrong in Molly’s eyes.
Will Molly be able to see past the end of her nose before she turns twenty-nine plus two? And will a handsome Doctor be the next muse? Or will someone else turn her head?
June 25, 2017
5 shining beautiful loving stars to this amazingly written piece by T.K. Leigh.
One of the things I love the most about her writing is the fact that she can write EVERYTHING! After reading her latest thriller - Vanished - I wasn't sure she'd be able to write anything that perfect, but now, after reading Writing Mr. Right, I know this woman is getting better and better with every book she writes. Besides the fact that this book is HILARIOUS, it's also very touching. Molly is going through one hell of a ride while dealing with issues from her past. She doesn't believe in true love and doesn't believe in love at all. She just wants to find a muse for the next novel she has to finish writing. But when she finds it in the most unexpected person, everything changes...
I can't tell you more without adding spoilers to this review so I'm just going to sum it up: Writing Mr. Right is not the average rom com. You know, girl meets boy, they fall in love and find their happily ever after. It has a lot more layers in it, and I found myself crying more than once. It deals with family, love, loss, lust and of course major LOL moments. Reading it as a beta reader was an honor and a pleasure that I'm very grateful for.

Oh. My. God. This book was utterly gorgeous, and I loved every, single page of it.

Written from first-person POV, this could've been a story that I disliked, but I absolutely fell head over hells for this book. For once, it wasn't the guy who was grovelling; it was the girl. The narrator. Molly. She was the one with all the major hang-ups, and fears, and questions, and she was the one with the concerns to resolve before she could be with her Mr. Right.

And it was wonderful. I loved that we were able to join in every part of her journey, and her voice rang true and honest. And her Mr. Right? Noah was a fantastic Mr. Right. Witty, gorgeous, caring, and unquestionably supportive no matter how much Molly might've tried to push him away.

Don't mind me: I'm off to find some more stuff by T.K. Leigh now. :D

Writing Mr Right by TK Leigh
4.5 stars!!!

“…real love isn’t real life.”

This was one of those books that caught my attention from the funky cover. I was in desperate need of a pick me up and this one looked like it could do the job, especially once I read the synopsis. For some reason, I am drawn to books about authors, maybe for that chance to glean info or maybe just because I find it fascinating. Anyhow, our heroine is a peddler of smut, and writers block is kicking her arse. Sometimes it is hard to write about something you have little to no experience of, I’m not talking about the smut, our heroine has her means, but the love, the love was severely lacking and something that she frankly did not believe in. With hilarious dialogue and even a few errant tears in this Rom Com I laughed, I swooned and I cried…perfect!

“I felt like a tourist in my own life, each guy I slept with just another site to see in my travels.”

Molly Brinks is a column writer by day, covering all manners of topics, usually of the sexual variety. By night, Molly Brinks turns into Vivienne Foxx, an erotica author that has hit all the lists and is currently under contract for more books of her “filth.” The publishing house only publishes erotica with a happily ever after, something that Molly is finding harder and harder to pen. Her blasé attitude to love being the main bone of contention and her lack of a muse being the other. Really though, her creativity is being stifled by the cookie cutter books that her publisher wants her to put out. It is the same shit different day scenario. Groundhog Day.

“Even iron can melt if it gets hot enough.”

Dr Noah McAllister is a neurologist, specialising in Alzheimer’s and other brain degenerative diseases. Noah crosses paths with Molly at the nursing home that is currently looking after her Alzheimer riddled father. Being her father’s doctor means that Molly is off-limits, ethics and all that, but friendly chats and chance meetings soon open these two up to those sparks, and boy do these sparks fly. Noah was adorable, seriously adorable. He knew when to push and when to hold back. When others would have run a mile, he stayed and fought. Noah was patient yet persistent, understanding, thoughtful and an all-round good guy. He was incredibly hard not to love. Just everything about him screamed...LOVE ME.

“Why was the one man who made me rethink my opinion on relationships the one man I could never have?”

What I loved about this book was how it all felt natural, organic and real. Real people, real life and real problems. The banter and dialogue between Molly and Noah was on point, it was honest, it was funny, it was swoony. It made me laugh, it made me sigh, it made me cry. Real life situations that unfortunately I have my own experience of and could whole heartedly relate to. And yet, it had morals, many morals to this story and many laid to rest. How life isn’t what it seems and the people closest go above and beyond to protect. The family dynamic in this book was heart-warming. Bonds that could never be broken and a family that would do anything for anyone. The relationship between Molly and her brother was inspiring, I truly felt a part of this family and that is kudos to TK Leigh, she brought these characters to life and for me, are ones that will stay with me permanently. I loved everything about this book and this is an author I will definitely be reading again.

“What if your pages full of reasons we shouldn’t be together are no match for my one reason we should? What if all your reasons, taken as a whole, pale in comparison?”

This is a whole new world from T.K. Leigh. A whole new way of writing that I loved every second of.  These characters were fantastic. I loved the whole cast of this book and would love if we could get novellas for a few of them!

This romance did it for me in every way. It had the swoon and it had the humor. I loved Molly and her author side, Vivienne Fox.  Molly/Vivienne is the author that you go to for those steamy romances that leave you tho and bothered. The hard part, she doesn't know where to go with what she writes next. She is a bestselling romance author who desperately need a little romance of her own.

An author who needs a little spark of her own to get her groove back. So what does she do? She goes on some dates and get that inspiration or her book, but this time is different. This guy is different. Life throws some curve balls and I was in for the ride with Molly while she powered through.

I hope we get more from T.K. in this genre, she shines with it. I couldn't be more happy.

For an author, writer’s block is not only a bitch but can really screw with the way a book can come out, if you can’t get past it, can’t find some inspiration any way you can then the book just may not ever get finished. In Writing Mr. Right this is the case for Molly whose pen name is Vivienne Foxx. I always enjoy a good romantic comedy as long as it is done right. The banter and jokes must be good enough to have me snorting, giggling or straight out laughing. Writing Mr. Right had this book whore doing all of the three. I enjoyed the story overall and while at times I rolled my eyes at Molly and may or may not wanted to cause her physical harm it didn’t really take away from my enjoyment of all things, Molly, Brooklyn, Drew and of course Noah.

If you are looking for a romantic comedy then you will find just that in Writing Mr. Right. I enjoyed this one overall and I think you all will as well.

Oh my word… if you enjoy Romantic Comedies I can NOT recommend Writing for Mr. Write more! I’d tell you to run, not walk, to your nearest Kindle, iPad, Nook, or whatever reading device you use and buy this book as quickly as you can! This was super smutty, a bit raunchy, with some just “good time” humor tossed in for good measure! I’m not sure the last time I laughed so hard through a book… ok, ok… I enjoy a good RomCom and Boomerangers by Heather M. Orgeron made me laugh out loud quite a bit too!

One of my favorite quotes from this book was:
“It was all the same. Girl meets boy. Girl has no interest in boy. Boy is sexy, perhaps a bit of a player. Girl lands on boy’s dick and miraculously falls in love with boy. Boy says he doesn’t do romance, but something about girl, perhaps her gold-plated vagina, makes him change his player ways. Then they live happily ever after and fuck like bunnies well into their eighties.”

I’m not going to dive into the synopsis since you can read as well! I can say that TK Leigh can write a darn book! She completely surpasses genre restrictions and just writes everything and I LOVE THAT!! Seriously, this is just a journey that is filled with so much laughter and eventually love that you can’t help but get absorbed into the world Leigh lays out for us. I adore Molly’s naughty mouth and her thoughts on “Real love isn’t real life!” How can you not love a book with that motto? But this is so much more that humor, there is family, love, and loss… there’s so much more covered in this book.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I will leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

T.K. quickly became one of my favorite authors. It's true that there doesn't seem to be anything she can't write.

You should be able to decipher by the spelling of "Writing" Mr. Right that Molly is an author. Like most, if not all, she writes under a pen name. If she didn't she would need one after the way she gathers her research. She has one trusted person who reviews her work before her publisher. Neither know what Molly has to go through to find her muses. She will have you bent over holding you stomach you'll be laughing so hard. The next thing you know you'll probably shed a tear or two.

Molly had a few lines that had me cracking up since she has no sensor on her mouth:
(1) "Molly's House of Pu**y is open twenty-four hours a day seven days a week".
(2) "If he were real, perhaps there wouldn't be cobwebs growing between my legs".
(3) I didn't know how many new words I could come up with for penis...dick, cock, shaft, love stick, man meat, beef thermometer, anaconda, bologna pony, meat popsisclde, Mr. Winky. I'd been known to be very creative, but there were only so many words in the English language to describe these yogurt slingers that were the cause of the most pleasurable orgasms my heroines had ever experienced".

During trying to write her last book things aren't going the way they normally do. She can't find make it come together and has to lie to her publisher about whether she's going to make her deadline.

Can she find the muse she needs she write her book? Can she meet her deadline? If she does is she safe? Does she decide to change publishers? What's the real meaning of "Writing Mr. Right".

I wanted to like this book more than I did. Because there are some serious laugh-out-loud funny moments and swoony-heart-warming times that are really well-written. But then there are others that just made me want to hurl my Kindle at a wall, mainly because of the heroine, Molly.

Man, in the beginning, I really liked Molly. But as I got more into the story I found myself becoming more and more annoyed with her. She's not TSTL but gosh, she had all this drama/angst going on. And though she had one heck of a great guy (who seriously adored her), I don't think she treated him well at all. (Noah, FYI, was an awesome book boyfriend. He's the reason why this book gets 3-stars. If he weren't so damn dreamy and sweet, I would've only rated this book 2-stars.)

It's rom-com books like this one that I wish were movies instead. I think I would've enjoyed it more watching the obvious stupid "drama" and the romantic stuff play out on a screen without being privy to the MC's thoughts --- because it was Molly's thoughts and inner dialogue that was annoying the hell out of me.

I love this book!

T.K. Leigh can send chills down your back with her suspenseful tales but she has found a new gift in writing romances with a side of comedy. Writing Mr. Right is a funny heartfelt story of Molly and Noah. Molly is an author who has relationships with men to help her with her books. They serve as a muse and research for her current book, but after the book is finished so is the relationship. Now she is starting a book about a powerful CEO that is all alpha but she’s having a hard time writing the book and finding a new muse. Then she meets the powerful Dr. Noah McAllister and this sends her book in a different direction along with her heart. All of these changes sends Molly into uncomfortable territory – will she learn to live with this new exciting life or will she go back to her old comfortable one? Grab T.K. Leigh’s new release you will find yourself laughing out loud and falling in love with Molly and Noah.

Hilarious, Romantic, Touching and Memorable. Writing Mr. Right strikes up the humor as Molly goes through situations in her personal life that have you doubled over with laughter.

The book is incredibly memorable and has some touching moments that tug at your heart strings. T.K. Brings this book to life with relatable characters and one sassy blonde named Molly Brinks. I couldn't get enough.
