Salon provides great service, cuts and colors at competitive prices. I work in the Pearl which is choked with high end salons, and I have to say the cuts and colors that Franchesca has given me equal in quality/style to those I've received in the Pearl ~ but at a good price. This is a local business that I love supporting. I just got a keratin hair straightening treatment at Avanti today and my hair looks great!! Try them out ~ you'll be back!

I'm new to this area so I was looking for "my" new salon when I stumbled across Avanti Salon and it's something I'll never regret. This is DEFINITELY "my" new salon. Francesca is awesome! She specializes in color and since my hair style consists of three colors it's a match made in heaven. She always does just as I describe what I want! She's very professional and extremely knowledgeable! I would recommend Francesca and this salon to anyone looking for "their" salon!!

Francesca is awesome. She's passionate about her business and it shows in her level of customer care. Flexible appointments, affordable and stylish kid cuts, great adult hair cuts. Affordable too! It's worth the not-very-far drive, for all you city dwellers like me. Make an appointment--it's a great salon.

I give this no stars. I took my chances in June and had an appt with 'Tia' a fairly new out of school stylist a young girl.
My first experiance was great she cut and styled my hair the way I wanted her to and she did all over color with highlights I was so pleased on how my hair looked, But then a month and a half later I went back this time was a complete disaster. I went in for a cut and style and a 'grow out' color. She took 3 and 1/2 hrs as opposed to the 2 hrs the last time she re did everything, kept the bleach on too long because she was busy texting her friends, did not check it during the procedure so when she washed and dried my hair it was a ORANGE! brassy mess, when I told her what she did she went back to darken it which only did a little correction.
My hair was like straw, then she went to cut me hair only taking tips off the ends and not giving me the inch off I asked for, finally I had it ! my time had run and after feeding the parking meter which is another AWESOME thing about this location I had run out of coin. I had a class to go to that night (which I missed thanks to her) I paid her (God know's why) left my jacket , Francesca called me on the phone to say she would "fix it" I told her I'm not having any of touch my hair again when I got into the car I ran my hands through my hair and two handfulls of hair dry and bleached came out! I had to go home and cut the dried mess back. The next day I had to go and get my jacket they were all sitting there smug saying"oh I think your hair looks great! not only were the highlights brassy but the were only in the front and not the back.

Stay away from this place, its too hit and miss and they just don't care and will lie to your face. Am I mad? yes I am cause now I've got to fix this mess.

I should preface this review with the fact that it's been well over a year since I've been to Avanti. I thought I would try someone local instead of downtown Portland and found Franchesca's photos of her color work and was impressed. I ended up going twice -- the first time very happy the second not so much. Color was done well as were the cuts - but what I didn't appreciate was being worked on at the same time as other clients, which lengthened my time there considerably (the last time I was there for over four (yes) and half hours! and the smoke breaks (bleh) in between processes, and what I thought were just standard things you don't talk about as a professional doing business with customers. Pricewise wasn't much cheaper than my downtown Portland hairdresser either... so I ended up feeling it wasn't worth it.
