Closed Action: Ask Your MP for Honest Labels

In 2018, we created a splash in the press by calling out Dairylea and Bernard Matthews products about their misleading labelling. These labels showed lush green fields and frolicking animals – despite the fact that, in reality, 70% of UK farm animals are reared in intensive systems. There’s no law requiring food labels to say how an animal has been raised.

We asked for your support – and over 10,000 compassionate people like you emailed their MP to sign a proposed parliamentary Motion to introduce mandatory method of production labelling. As a result, over 100 MPs from across the parties signed the Early Day Motion.

With your support, our Policy and Campaigns teams will continue to work with all parties, and press the Government, to demand Honest Labelling.
