SASKATOON – The University of Saskatchewan (U of S) Huskies football team honoured the Canadian Forces during its home game on Friday.

Two Canadian Armed Forces CT-155 Hawk jets conducted a flyby over Griffiths Stadium to mark the ‘Huskies Support Our Troops’ game.

The aircrafts fly at an altitude no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle in its path before resuming a higher altitude to return to the Regina airport.

Organizers of the annual tribute say the contest between the two teams is a spectacular way for the football program and the community at large to honour and salute the men and women who serve in the Canadian Forces.

The Huskies wore custom-designed uniforms combining the arid camouflage worn by our Canadian troops in Afghanistan with the team’s traditional green and white.
