PROGRAMME DETAILS ANNOUNCED
With YMCA175 not far away, the event programme is in the final stages of planning, with a full release planned for April 2019 and guest announcements are expected all the way through until August. Expect a programme that is fun, dynamic, participative, engaging – and at times, challenging!

All the rooms are at 2 to 4 star hotels, within a 10-minute walking distance of the venue and range from single occupancy, to twin bed, double bed and family rooms.

Our Executive Committee held its first meeting in 2019 at YE office in Brussels fulfilling an agenda that includes decisions in the frame of our Strategy 2016-2020 and its implementation. As we approach the 2019 General Assembly (May 23-26 Sanary, France) the Executive also focuses on the 2018 reporting, Constitutional items to be presented at the GA and future plans involving the European YMCA movement. Meeting at our premises in Brussels was an extra positive aspect for the team.

The 3rd session of YMCA Europe Leadership Academy: "Young European Advocates" took place from 27th of March until April 1st in Malta. 33 participants from 19 countries got together to study efficient communication, public speaking, advocacy, policy papers, advocacy campaigns and importance of inclusive language.

At the 77th World YMCA Executive Committee meeting held in Geneva, a delegation from KFUM og KFUK i Danmark presented the proposal to host the next World Council. A decision on this bid the will be taken this coming summer by World YMCA governance body.

Representatives of YMCAs in England & Wales, Sweden, Czech Republic, Slovakia, IKE and YMCA Europe have meet in Prague (March 21-22), to establish a Programme Group on Communications. More info soon.

Executive Committe of World YMCA met in Geneva (March 22-25). Before the meeting, the Global Staff Team also met to follow up on the agenda set in the previous meeting and follow up on the outcomes of the NGS meeting held last month in Brisbane.

YMCA Europe Brussels’ office at the Expert Group on funding organized by the European Youth Foundation
On March 6, YMCA's Brussels office attended the expert group on funding. It was an afternoon of intensive work where we were able to exchange with the European Youth Forum and other youth NGOs. We talked about the various funding programs proposed by the European Union, such as the ESC or Erasmus +. We also informed the European Youth Forum of our concerns about the new programmes and the difficulties we encountered in applying and thought how to resolve them. It was an inspiring moment for us.
