Former Microsoft executive Jason Holtman will oversee the growth of Oculus Platform alongside head of platform engineering Marshall Cline and head of worldwide publishing David DeMartini.

The project is an attempt to bring together all virtual reality apps, compatible with headsets including Oculus Rift and Samsung's Gear VR, in a single place.

Oculus Platform was announced this weekend at the Oculus Connect conference, where a new prototype model of Oculus Rift dubbed Crescent Bay was revealed.

The storefront will go live this autumn, in time for the launch of the Gear VR.
