A Wretched Hive Of Scum And Villainy For PlayStation Home

Sony celebrates the 30th anniversary of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in PlayStation Home this Thursday with a faithful rendition of an iconic Star Wars location that did not appear in The Empire Strikes Back.

Mos Eisley spaceport, the wretched hive of scum and villainy that houses the Mos Eisley Cantina, first appeared in the original Star Wars movie, otherwise known as A New Hope. It then skipped Empire, which took place on Hoth, Dagobah, and in Cloud City, making a return in the celebration scene at the end of the special edition of Return of the Jedi.

So it makes sense that the cantina be introduced this Thursday into PlayStation Home, along with a bunch of Star Wars costumes and furniture items available from the LucasArts store in the PlayStation Home Mall. I guess it beats getting another Hoth level.

Along with the new space, fans are urged to keep an eye on the posters in PlayStation Home's Central Plaza over the coming weeks, where snippets of voucher codes will be appearing. The first 10,000 users who redeem the code will score a special Empire-themed furniture item for their Personal Space.

If that's not a good reason to log into PlayStation Home, look around for a bit, and then log out again, I don't know what is.
