Asia North 2021 Exhibition -- SUBMISSION FORM
The Asian Arts & Culture Center (AA&CC) at Towson University and Central Baltimore Partnership will present a month-long exhibition as part of their annual Asia North: A Celebration of Art, Culture, and Community. Asia North is a celebration of Baltimore’s Charles North (a.k.a. Station North) neighborhood’s constantly evolving identities as a Koreatown, arts district, and creative center. Asia North promotes work of regional AAPI artists, provides space for sharing diverse artistic expressions, and fosters collaboration among diverse community-centered organizations.


Who is eligible?
All regionally based AAPI visual artists.

What can I submit?
1 to 5 works. All 2-D and video works welcome. We also seek proposals for a limited number of 3-D works for site-specific installations. Works must be original. PLEASE NOTE: This is a curated exhibit, and we may not be able to accommodate all pieces submitted. The AA&CC reserves the right to decline any submissions.

When and where is the exhibition?
Exhibition: April 10 - May 15, 2021
Location: Multiple venue and storefront windows around Station North. Works will also be included in an online exhibition.

What is the submission deadline?
Applications must be received no later than February 27.

When will I be notified?
You will receive a notification from the AA&CC no later than March 5.
AA&CC staff will coordinate with artists regarding delivery/installation/pick-up logistics. Accepted work may not be withdrawn before the close of the exhibition on May 15.

How will my works be accepted?
Logistics TBD.
 
Do I need to have my own insurance coverage for my works during the exhibition?
AA&CC will insure the works while on site for the insurance value indicated on the entries.

Will my works be photographed?
AA&CC and Asia North partners may photograph the work for reproduction on AA&CC website, press releases and in social media.  

Is there a stipend?
There may be a modest stipend for artists chosen to do site-specific installations.

Include title, year, medium, dimensions, and description of each work. Your response will be taken into account when we decide which works to accept and decline. If you are proposing a site specific installation, include a budget and the specific venue.

DO NOT email images directly to the email address, send only via wetransfer.com.  Images to be titled as lastname_firstname_title.jpg, or   _title1.jpg, _title2.jpg if submitting multiple images of one work. The AA&CC reserves the right to use images of your work in print and on social media for advertising of the Asia North 2021 exhibition and related programs, and the Asian Arts & Culture Center at Towson University and its programs.
