Migrant Solidarity Assembly Interest Form

Join Never Again Action and immigrant justice organizers from across the country in Austin, Texas on June 9-12 for a Migrant Solidarity Assembly & Anti-Fascist Fabrengen– a weekend of training, skill-sharing, community-building, singing, strategizing, dancing, praying, and taking direct action together.

Why a Migrant Solidarity Assembly?

Despite all the promises of change, for the last two years, the deportation machine has been chugging along as cruelly as ever. 4,000,000 immigrants have been deported or expelled, millions are illegally denied their right to asylum, and ICE continues to prowl workplaces, bus stations, and school parking lots.

In Texas, the fascist Governor Greg Abbott continues to escalate his war against immigrants, from forcing immigrants onto buses as a political stunt, to calling immigration an ‘invasion’, to championing the state-run immigrant kidnapping program, Operation Lonestar. Meanwhile, the Biden administration is breaking campaign promise after campaign promise, while expanding or maintaining anti-immigrant Trump programs like 287(g) police-ICE contracts, the transit asylum ban, and Title 42.

It’s easy to feel confused, stuck, and frustrated right now. But our movements are resilient, especially when leading with community, spirit, and joy. That’s why we’re coming together in Texas, one of the frontlines in the struggle for immigrant justice: to learn from the hard-won wisdom of organizers across the country;  to strategize around how to win our campaigns and continue to grow our power; to deepen our solidarity with immigrant communities; and drawing from Jewish, immigrant, and other cultural traditions opposed to white supremacy, to sing, dance, pray, dream, build joyful community, and take direct action towards a world without fascism, white supremacy, and deportation, where all of use can live and move freely.

What will we do?

--> We'll learn and share skills around everything from relational organizing, to campaign and action design, to cultivating transformative movement culture, to deportation defense and mutual aid

--> We’ll strategize together in campaigns to fight police-ICE collaboration, like Operation Lonestar and 287(g), and other cogs in the deportation machine

--> We’ll take direct action targeting the fascist, racist, death-dealing governor, Greg Abbott;

--> We’ll sing, dream, and root ourselves in the long term struggle to win a world without cages, where no one is illegal, and our immigrant neighbors can live without fear.
