DC Crime Bills Testimony Writing Guide
This form will help you put together and submit written testimony for the Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety hearing on the Accountability and Victim Protection Amendment Act of 2023.

You can submit testimony in two ways using this form:

1. Submit it to the committee directly: After filling in this form, click submit. You will get a copy of your answers emailed to you. Then you can →

  • Check the box for “Record testimony”
  • Copy-paste your answers in order directly into the webpage to form your testimony
  • Submit it!
  • Deadline for this is Monday (10/2) at 5 PM

There are four writing prompts (sections 2 to 5) in this form:
  1. Introduction and grounding. Who are you and why are you submitting testimony?
  2. What are you concerned about? What do you NOT want the Council to do?
  3. What does safety mean to you? What do you want the Council to do?
  4. Close out. End your testimony strong.
