Another piece of Steve Burrs plan to bring in as many lower league players as possible took another step forward today when Dave Hankin arrived from his former club, Stalybridge Celtic. To be concise Hankin had already left the Bower Fold a few weeks ago and it was no secret that he was on his way here. Now Burr is hoping that the tall wide man can deliver the kind of right wing crosses that we need.
Hankin joined Stalybridge at the start of last season from Clitheroe after formerly playing at Squires Gate?, Bamber Bridge and firstly as a trainee with Preston North End. He made forty appearances for his former club in his only season there and hit the net six times.
Hankin is the second Stalybridge player to join the Harriers after Keith Briggs' arrival here a couple of weeks ago. He'll be joing us officially on July 5th.
All we need now is a decent striker to feed off those crosses that Burr is banking on Hankin doing.
