Ryder Cup Pairings

Ryder Cup Pairings, (AP) – Time was Corey Pavin and the rest of the confidence of U.S. Ryder Cup when Francesco Molinari brain holed the putt that hurts the most.
An hour was all they had, 60 minutes to get to something that might work better because all their plans drawn the last two years has not.
The obvious choice was to take a page from the past, send the best, and hope somehow, some way, get some momentum to turn around the Ryder Cup. You know how Ben Crenshaw rallied the troops so famous 11 years ago in Brookline.
The problem is, we do not know who the best American players are not.
Tiger Woods? Not after flogging him and Steve Stricker took on Sunday. Man and Jim Furyk 10 million? It seems to be in shock FedEx Cup.
And where are you hiding Phil Mickelson, well on its way to make his mark as the worst Ryder Cup player in recent history?
“There’s nobody to hide, but thank you for asking,” Pavin said.
An hour to arrive at a plan. Pavin just 30 minutes doodle his name.
If there is a return, Woods will not be that it plugs. If the momentum is moving, it will happen while Mickelson is always breakfast.
If the United States will somehow retain the Ryder Cup, guys like Steve Stricker and Stewart Cink will have to take the lead.
And if some Pavin has great strategy, opposing captain seems as puzzled by it as anyone.
“It surprises me that correspond to eight and 10 contain 1 and 2 in the world,” European captain Colin Montgomerie said.
Surprise is a euphemism for taking Pavin put Woods on the eighth day and Mickelson in two pairs later. It’s almost as if the taciturn American captain looked swing balky putter Woods and Mickelson ugly and decided they had little chance to give points anyway.
But emotions are all at the Ryder Cup, and relegating the two best players in the world to support the role can not do much to inspire an American team that launched away any realistic chance to win on Sunday afternoon after Having briefly rallying into a contest. By the time Woods and Mickelson go around Monday, the Europeans are not already celebrating in front of crowds who are as much in this competition as they do.
It’s not as if the odds are not already stacked against the Americans. Molinari final putt to pull out another half point for Europe made the score 9 1/2-6 1 / 2, which means the U.S. must remove the greatest comeback in the second simple to make the Ryder Cup home with them.
The biggest, of course, was in Brookline, where the U.S. rode the wave of victories early in the final day after being down 10-6 to win one of the wildest Ryder Cups ever. At Brookline, however, the European team was so weak that the three players were benched until the last day and a noisy crowd helped fuel the Yankees’ charge.
Here, the Euro team was favored at the start and played with great confidence on his own ground. Fans go crazy encourage each stroke of good iron, and the roar on every putt did.
It does not help that a man who now seems to be improvising as he goes along captains this U.S. team. Pavin could not explain why he thought the No. 8 match was so important location for Woods, as he could not explain why his players kept leaving putts short all day while the Europeans meant that if they reach’m in the hole.
And how can you explain a captain who claims to be pleased to see steady progress from his team when there’s just one day to go in this, the longest ever Ryder Cup?
Do not bother to ask the players of the United States, as if you can find them. They are off the field as fast as they could and hid in the bathroom of the team, away from curious minds of journalists who wanted to know.
“I let the players do what they want to do,” said Pavin. “It’s their choice to speak or not speak.”
The choice was easy. Security room of the team, they have published some quotes about fighting hard and trying to win on Monday, but there was no understanding why they thought they could start playing better or how they were planning to do.
Not that it really matters. They are dominated, Pavin is outcoached, and it will not be long before Americans are watching the Euro celebrate on the balcony of the pavilion Celtic Manor.
Montgomerie seemed in a hurry. He wrote in pencil in his power trio of Lee Westwood, Luke Donald and Rory McIlroy to begin, although the hope of preventing any return of a U.S. plot before it even begins.
It is a good initiative, and Monty has the best players. It’s a tough combination to beat.
Particularly difficult for a team that does not seem to have a plan.
