Out of 22 books I read in 2018, five of them were industry-related (storytelling/content development topics). Below is a list of them and why I recommend each: On Writing by Stephen King ⭐️ For those looking to become better writers. The Storytelling Animal: How to Stories Make Us Human by Jonathan Gottschall ⭐️ For those looking into the historical background of storytelling. Content Inc: How Entrepreneurs Use Content to Build Massive Audiences and Create Radically Successful Businesses by Joe Pulizzi ⭐️ For those wanting to become better content marketers. I highly recommend this book. Crushing It! How Great Entrepreneurs Build The Business and Influence - And How You Can, Too by Gary Vaynerchuk ⭐️ For those wanting to get better at social media marketing. The Storytelling Edge: How to Transform Your Business, Stop Screaming Into the Void and Make People Love You by Joe Lazauskas and Shane Snow ⭐️ For those wanting to get a new perspective of storytelling and how it applies to digital marketing. Check out “Marketing Rebellion” too by Mark Schaefer!
The largest companies in the world are multisided platform business models. To get up to speed, I read lots of books on platforms, but these two are my favorites: #platform #businessmodels Platform Revolution by Geoffrey Parker, Marshall Van Alstyne and Sangeet Paul Choudary Platform Scale by Sangeet Choudary
Great List Rocio. I totally agree that Joe Pulizzi s book is a must read. "Killing Marketing" as well. I recommend "Building a StoryBrand" by Donald Miller.
"Those who tell the stories rule the world." — Native American proverb
Thanks for the books recommendations. I liked „On writing well“ by William Zinsser.
King’s book is stellar. Witty, revelatory, and BS-free. Plus, that harrowing account of “The Accident”!
I definitely recommend: "Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones" by James Clear.
Thanks for the recommendations I’m trying to learn more about storytelling and content marketing
Thanks so much for the shout out on Content Inc. I'd also like to second the nomination for On Writing. I've read it twice. So valuable!
