        http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/movi...n-costume.html

this followup says it was digitally painted on for the cover, and by the way you can see pores and such on the face where it should be mask and the neckline and that is usually an indication of ps, at least one kinda hastily done.

While it will still be digitally painted on for the movie one would assume that it will be a cleaner look.

For filming, Reynolds' actual costume that he wears on set is full of sensors, much like the suits that athletes wear when lending their on-field moves to video games. After the scenes are shot, the sensors allow for the costume to be added via post-production technology.
They're just mentioning that the costume is and will be digital, I haven't seen a mention yet that this isn't what we should expect from the film.

            • 'GREEN LANTERN' Set Report; Costume is work in progress? War of Light Sequel?! 3D conversion and more!

              (very slight story spoilers ahead!)

We catch the filmings of Green Lantern (Green Lantern) in the end well. Day 89 of a total of 100 days of the adaptation ahead of the cameras. But it gave - and it sobrou - time to talk in our visit to set in the pleasant New Orleans with the director Martin Campbell, the producer Donald De Line and the two protagonists, Ryan Reynolds (Hal Jordan/Green Lantern) and Mark Strong (Sinestro).

Also we say with the figurinista, designer of special production and the specialist in effect, that had entered in details on the film and basically they had counted to history all, while they absolutely showed to conceptual arts and photos of everything what we will see in the adaptation. Obviously, not yet we will count nothing very specific here (we are under embargo of the studio), but can advance some things.

First, the image that the Entertainment Weekly still divulged of the uniform of the Lantern is a in progress work. Of the low neck pra is basically what we will see in the long one, but the mask will not be accurately as of the photo. The format is the same, but it seems applied in the face of the hero, as a physical mask, not painted in it, as in the photo.

My general impression was of allegiance to the original material, with emphasis in the series Private Origin, of Geoff Johns - that it served as consulting of the film, thinking in the script and all the creation. For the Troop of the Green Lanterns 25 personages had been created in details (it are the Guardians of the Universe), each one with its distinct energy signature, but in the total we will see a multitude of 3600 lanterns in a key scene of the film. E the fans of Sinestro will be happy in knowing that mustache is untouched, fine and divided in the cantos of the mouth. Mark Strong is unbelievably similar to the personage in the adventure! It took off of the proper knapsack a photo its makeup, so that I could see I eat I was characterized.

Clearly that several exist adaptations, especially in relation to the Parallax villain and its origin, but is about the film of the Green Lantern that the fans want to see. The fight of the force of will against the fear and its physical incarnation is the central subject, as well as in the HQs recent.

E better still, the producers already had delineated the ideas for as and the third films - and say that everything can happen in these: Malignant Sinestro, War of Rings, Hal Jordan yielding to the power, the destruction of Coast City… everything what already we saw in the comics can gain version in the sequels… is enough that this has good ticket office.

The other important detail (the least for me, ehehehe) is that I could hold the iconic lantern of Hal Jordan, inherited of Abin Sur, and dress the ring in the finger. Obviously, I did not resist and I leaned the jewel in the lantern, to load it, as vi the personage making as many times in the comics. Noticing my enthusiasm, the scene object head quickly bound it, making with that the lantern emitted one strong green light of its center. Seeing me there, with ring and lantern shining in the hands, I only could make what any nerd of pedigree would make: to chant the oath of the Troop of the Green Lanterns. At last, he was one of the “clearer days” of my life of fan of comics.

The complete interviews and the story in details - exclusive of the Omelette in Latin America! - you will read more close to the launching it film, in 17 of June of 2011 in 3-D and 2-D (and for speaking in conversion in 3-D, Campbell says that the fans can be comfortable, it he will have much time to convert its film for the format and nothing he will be hasty).

              • Well that interview makes me happy, and to see that they changed Legion to Parallax it looks like more than changing the name of Legion to Parallax. Also I am glad that the theme is Willpower vs Fear and actually see that.

                    • GREEN LANTERN writer Greg Berlanti talks about adapting the comic

Project: "Green Lantern," based on the DC comic
Screenwriters: Greg Berlanti, Michael Goldenberg, Michael Green, Marc Guggenheim
                      Director: Martin Campbell
Release date: June 17 (Warner Bros.)

                      Greg Berlanti:
"Because I hadn't done a film like this before, I worked with an artist and we did about 20 or 30 images of what the movie could be. I used my TV background to think about this not as one film, but a two-hour block of as many as three or four different films. We pitched the studio on multiple films and showed possible moments and images of how this wasn't just some silly character in a green suit with a magic ring -- rather, an epic, emotional drama about the first comic book superhero who could travel into space for lengthy periods of time. I enlisted my friends Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim and, as lovers of the comic book, we listed everything that we would kill to see in a movie like this. We started by generating those moments and began to write. We each took sections and rewrote each other. You want to tell a story that's exciting, but also be respectful of the character and what you adored about it as a child. You don't want to worship it so much that you can't see the flaws in the story."
