Applied Leadership

The January Tweet Chat using the #LeadChange hashtag we asked the question, "How are you doing?"  Remember in the first chat in December, we had quite a few people commit to applying character-based leadership to make a positive difference.  In fact, Make a Positive Difference was the title of the post where we reviewed the chat.

This time, the question began, how did you do?  We had several people who had done specific things to apply character-based leadership. (For an explanation of character-based leadership, check out the post: Sources of Leadership.)  Overall we had a great crowd again for the chat, but it was slightly smaller than the first one, both in number of tweets and number of participants.  I also had significantly more difficulty getting the archive and posting it.  Hopefully we'll do a better job of that next time.  However, one advantage, this time I created the .pdf with a different tool, so I highlighted some of the key tweets.

One tweet that I remember seeing, but couldn't find I still managed to find when it was re-tweeted near the end.  Chrissanne Ruehle (@ChrissanneRuehle) suggested that we use a journal to track and reflect on our efforts to apply character-based leadership.  A few people agreed with Chrissanne and committed to journaling so we'll see what the results are next month. (I'm one of those people, but I'm not doing as well as I had hoped.)

You can download the .pdf here.  The next #LeadChange chat session will be Thursday, February 9 at 8 PM EST.  Any suggestions for the topic?  Those of us who have been posting on Office Politics will want your input on how character-based leadership busts a political office.  But do you have other topics you'd like to discuss, er uh, tweet about?  Comments are welcome.

Thanks for making a difference.
