Llanon etc.

Yesterday I spent a few hours at Llanon looking in vain for the lapland bunting. I found the two reed buntings along the path but I presume the lapland bunting has moved on. There were good numbers of small gulls heading south off-shore (presumably from a nearby roost)which included 5 adult Mediterranean gulls and a few kittiwakes were feeding far out. A few divers were also there including a great northern diver which flew in from the south before landing and disappearing in the choppy conditions. Also flying north were two gannets with another four seen flying north later on at Llanrhystud. On a meandering return home in time for the rugby there was a whooper swan on Llyn Nant yr Arian and three goldeneye on Llyn Syfydrin.
