The leak originated from 4Chan, with a supposed document indicating Fortnite as one of several unannounced Switch titles allegedly being revealed at E3. Corroborating the photo, sources speaking anonymously to Kotaku said Fortnite would be coming to Switch.
Sources also confirmed to Kotaku that Dragon Ball FighterZ, another title listed in the document, is also coming to the Switch.IGN has reached out to Epic Games for comment and will update this story should they respond.
It is currently unclear if Fortnite's Save the World mode or Fortnite: Battle Royale, or both, would be coming to the Switch if this rumor proves to be true. Other confirmed games included in the document are FIFA 19, Paladins, and Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. Overcooked 2 and Killer Queen Black are also referenced in the document.
Coincidentally, Killer Queen's social media pages have blacked out their images for the past week, including their Twitter and Facebook accounts, which suggest the title could be a real version of the arcade game. While not necessary confirming any specific entry or all of the list, it does seem to indicate Killer Queen Black may in fact be a plausible title.
Fortnite is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Mac and PC as a paid early access title, and its free-to-play standalone battle royal mode is available on those platforms as well as iOS and Android. In IGN's review of Fortnite Battle Royale, we said "Fortnite’s zany style and unique blend of shooting and building almost never offers anything less than an outstanding time."Fortnite is a constantly evolving game, as its meteorite mystery continues with new changes to the map, and its recent inclusion of shopping carts as vehicles has added a new wrinkle to its gameplay. Though there's no official word on Fortnite coming to the Switch, it's certainly plausible that this port could be announced at E3. Colin Stevens is a freelance news writer.
