Message from the Principal

Term 2 has been packed with many different opportunities for students. We started the term of with our annual Industry Breakfast. This year we welcomed even more local businesses to work with us with over 90 attendees. Ex-student Kurt Gidley came along to talk about the importance of determination in chasing your career path. This event ensures we are doing everything we can to prepare our students for their future as we listen to what support local employers require. Our hospitality students did an amazing job preparing a very professional and delicious breakfast.

Starstruck this year demonstrated that we have "no limits". With over 70 dancers, including one student on the creative team and Jayden as a featured artist it was an outstanding showcase of our talents. A big thank you to the staff for working with these students in the many weeks leading up to the show and during the massive show week.

We have seen students achieve on an individual level in so many different fields. Wade Neilsen was successful with his audition as Billy Elliot and will now travel the nation performing at all major cities. We also saw Nate and Abby competing at the National BMX championships, along with Emily at the National Swimming Championships. We have so many talented students across a wide variety of areas.

We concluded the term with two special events, the Extravaganza and Term 2 Merit Assembly as we recognised all students who are giving their personal best. Congratulations to all award recipients and every student who had work on display. It was a brilliant showcase of the great work that is happening in every classroom.

Students have now received their Semester One report and been provided feedback on areas for improvement. I look forward to Term 3 and seeing our students continue to strive for their personal best. This is an important term for Year 12 as they come to the end of their schooling. I am confident that they will ensure they maximise this term. I look forward to welcome all students back on Tuesday 23rd July for another great term.
