Two wrongs don't make a right.
But, try telling them that.

Marni

I wasn't supposed to be at that house.
I should have never wandered away from the party.
And I definitely shouldn't have pressed my ear to that door.
The words I heard play in my mind like a record on repeat.
Now, they want my silence.
The four guys who terrorize the streets of Redwood as a sport will stop at nothing to make sure that my lips are sealed.
What they don't know is that I refuse to go down without a fight.

Talon
Marni Thorn thinks she's holding all the cards.
She believes she's harboring our secret.
Little does she know, it wasn't ours to begin with.
We made a rule that she's off limits.
But a body like that is meant to be touched.
Limits are pushed, and rules are broken.
But one thing is for certain, I have my little rebel right where I want her.

STRIKER: is the first full length bully romance book in the series 'Redwood Rebels', by Rachel Leigh. Spoken in 'dual perspectives.'

This book hooked me in from the get go… captivating, compelling and completely unputdownable, a unique suspenseful storyline which left me floundering in its wake needing/craving/seeking more. I can't wait to see what the next book brings us.

A bully romance like no other, so much shrouded in mystery, us the reader having to put the puzzle pieces together with what little tidbits the author threw us, making this confusing at times because we're not given the full picture so your kind of left in the dark trying to make sense of what your reading, which is why this doesn't get a 5 star rating from me. But in saying that I really did enjoy this story.

Meet Marni our heroine, she's landed up overhearing something which has dire consequences landing her under the radar of the boys. But not all is what it seems here. it's hard to know if these boys are friends or foe. One things for certain our hero Talon struggled with the intense chemistry Marni evoked in him. But Talon and his few closest friends (Zed, Lars and Tommy - Our Redwood Rebels) have a plan to seek out vengeance and that plan involves Marni. But they didn't reckon on how strong she is, she won't go down without a fight!!

All four of these boys are easy on the eyes. Each one holding his own appeal. They don't have that athletic appeal. They're more grunge and darkness about them.

This twisty dark tale set the pages on 🔥add in the chemistry between Talon and Marni and my ipad was ready to combust!!

"We all have our inner demons that we battle day in and day out. Just because the world doesn't see them, doesn't mean they don't exist "

What a Dark Bully Romance!!

This is the first time I read something about this author , and I'm so happy I did.
I don't even know where to start , there's so much I wanna say and a so small amount of word to do it.
These characters brought me on a never ending rollercoaster of emotions . I loved every second of it.

Marni is a strong , independent woman . Not scared of anything or anyone . She held herself up like a real leader. She wasn't afraid of the danger , not even when it lived under her same roof . But like everyone , she had her secrets , and one in particular dragged her under the bus.

Talon , the bad boy , the bully , everyone worse nightmare. And when you became the target of his attention there's no way out , no matter how much you try. And bad boys like him are never alone , at the appearance anyway . He and his four childhood friends made a pact , they'll help each other with each persona revenge , no matter what or how.

“I don’t live in the darkness, the darkness lives in me.”

Talon revenge was blurred and unclear until the very end , but once you find out , everything start to make sense .

His plan included using Marni as his own pawn in a bigger game , she know nothing about. He thought he had everything figured out and under control , but he didn't expect one thing : to catch some sort of feelings .

Marni challenged him , made him feel different , she broke all his walls with a look . And he hated it but at the same time he couldn't same to get enough of her.

"I didn't know it at the time, but my plans changed the first time I saw you cry. I'd give it all back if it meant I could keep you forever"

The chemistry and the sexual tension was palpable in every page .
That strong friendships were so good, I loved them.
And those PLOT TWISTS where just WOW!
I gave it 5 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I hope you'll enjoy it like I did

ENJOY.

A bully romance drenched in romantic suspense and seething with the need for revenge. Four childhood friends made a pact to help each other exact that revenge. This is the beginning of their story and it will leave you wanting more.

Talon wants his own vigilante justice. He has a plan, friends to help make it happen and the pawn he selected to drawn in his prey. Marni may have been the pawn he sought out, but this intelligent and brazen girl will not be manipulated without putting up a fight.

Marni has no idea what Talon, Lars, Tommy and Zed want with her. She’s about to get dragged into their darkness as they force her to take part in their sinister plot. Her life is not simple, but they guys just made it way more complicated.

Talon becomes her shadow, as he needs to control her so that his plan will play out just the way he wants. He never expected to want her. All he planned to do was use her and then toss her aside. The man who has never felt anything, feels too much around her. This complicated man carries his own pain, but Marni heals his hurt. Together they are volatile, yet when they finally stop hiding their own vulnerabilty, love begins to grow. Plans change. What started out as pure hatred turns into undeniable desire. Talon and Marni are blazing Hot!

Everyone has secrets, even friends who pledge loyalty to one another. No one can be trusted. The twists will keep coming, so enjoy the story as it unfolds. The angst was intense. Just when you think you know what’s next...surprise! We only just began to scratch the surface of Tommy, Lars and Zed. There is so much more story to be told. This is not the end. The suspense was never-ending and had me on the edge of my seat. I cannot wait for more.

Well... This was not what I expected to be honest. Starting this one I was confused as fuck. I didn't know what was going on and even though things got a bit more clear.. it never cleared up completely for me. I felt like I was missing big chunks of the story.

Now as for the characters.. some I liked and some I didn't.. which brings me to the second reason I wasn't blown away. I didn't care one bit for Talon and Marni. They wanted to be adults but acted like little kids half the time. And the ice scoop scene!!?? Yeah need to bleech my eyes to forget that part ...yikes 😬😬 Seems these two could only think with their naughty bits.

This book reminded me of all the bully books I have read in the last couple of years. Each chapter reminded me of a different book. So it didn't feel like something new and different to me.

That said .. I was intrigued by Tommy and Lars and even Zed who seems to bare a resemblance to one of my all time favorite bullies Damon.

I also read that Tommy's book is an MM book which makes me all kinds of happy. Hopefully is will enjoy his story moren than I did this one.

Now even though this book did not blow me away.. I am intrigued enough to want to try the second book. I would just jump into Tommy's book but it seems that all these books need to be read in order.. so Lars' book it is.

For me this was a 2,5 star read which I am rounding up because I finished it and it made me curious enough to continue.

I received an ARC of the book in return for an honest review.
Striker is a dark bully romance along with kidnapping, blackmail, murder, friendships, mystery and angst. The characters were well written with lots of depth and dark secrets. Marni is strong and independent and can fight her corner. Talon, well, he’s complicated to say the least. Talon and his 3 friends, Zed, Lars and Tommy (the Redwood Rebels) need Marni for their revenge. The story takes you on journey through the dark world of Talon Porter and his need to right a wrong no matter what. It had me wanting to keep on reading to know all the why’s and then there was a twist! I didn’t see that coming.
Even though this is part of a new series, I would recommend reading the Redwood High series first as you will get to meet Talon and Marni and a few of the other characters in those books which will help you understand them more.

This book was phenominal. My FAVORITE of all of Rachel Leigh's books.
I was hooked from the very first page to the second I put it down. I was on the edge of my seat the ENTIRE time.

The chemistry and connection between Talon and Marni was so intense.
And the guys. Shew. Where is the air conditioning when you need it? Because they were HOT.
Tommy, Zed and Lars were the most loyal yet ruthless friends you can have. They were also SEXY & sometimes you just wanted MORE MORE MORE of them. I loved them as side characters and cannot wait for each of their books!

This book has just the right amount of darkness, sex appeal, suspense, mystery, [sexy guys,] and will leave you wanting more! 5 stars is not enough for this book and author! I want to give it more!

“Striker” is the first part of the brand new series “Redwood Rebels” by Rachel Leigh. Told in dual perspectives, Get ready to meet Talon and Marni!

Marni is the main girl of this story. She has somehow managed to land herself in trouble. When she accidentally stumbles upon info that she wasn't supposed to learn, Talon sets his eyes on her. Talon is the King of their college. He is into shady stuff and the last thing he wants is a witness. So now Marni is his to do as he wants. He captures her and is all set to use her for his own gain. And really does not care what happens to her in the end.

Marni is terrified. She is not a meek girl that will roll over when these boys tell her to, but she still wasn’t supposed to get into this big mess. Now she has to do whatever Taln and his friends want because they have control over her through evidence. That is until things between her and Talon start heating up. Her main tormentor takes an Interest in her and the terrifying thing is that a part of her likes that.

I won’t lie and say that this book was all good for me. The storyline was very confusing to me. There were parts where I had a hard time understanding what was happening. The characters were good and the rest of the boys definitely intrigued me. I can tell that they all have their own stories to tell and Can’t wait for more from this series! Even though Marni and Talon got their HEA in this story but the whole story is by no means over. I still have a lot of questions to be answered which will hopefully be answered in the story of the other boys. If you are into thrilling books with a bit of bullying and steam , then definitely try this book!

description
STRIKER is officially my favorite book written by Rachel Leigh and it might just go down in HISTORY as one of my all-time favorite reads, one of which I have already devoured three times back to back because I couldn't get enough of these characters. This dark and twisted tale consumed every inch of my soul and left me absolutely breathless as I inhaled every unexpected twist and turn. These Redwood Rebels are going to be the DEATH of me and I have to say I freaking LOVED every moment of it.

Talon Porter has intrigued me since the first moment this phenomenal author introduced him AND my greedy self decided to put my claim on him, which means you all need to BACK OFF MY MAN because I am not willing to share. I might have even considered throwing little Marni Thorn over a cliff so I can claim him completely for myself, but I kinda have a lady crush on her so I guess she can have her claim on him too. This ruthless man gripped my heart with his give no f*ck attitude and ignited it on fire. That burning ache deep in my chest was everything and it gave me LIFE. He has an aura about him that makes it nearly impossible not to fall head over heels in love.

This story was unbelievably H-O-T with the perfect amount of angst, darkness, suspense and mystery...oh and don't even get me started on these sexy guys. While this story is technically Talon and Marni's story, the rest of the Redwood Rebels (Zed King, Tommy Chambers and Lars Titan) play a HUGE part. Their stories are intertwined together and the secrets they share could destroy any one of them at any moment. Now that I have had a taste of them, I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of this series!

ALSO...just throwing this out there NOW but ZED KING also belongs to me because he is just too twisted not to belong to me. So don't even think about trying to claim him since he is MINE and ONLY MINE!

Style: Bully Romance
Story: 3/5
Enjoyment: 3/5
Dark Level: 2/5
Sexual: GOOD
Triggers: Yes
Male: Popular, Sexy & Dark
Series: Book 1
Pages: 254
Kindle Unlimited: Yes

STORY:
Got a bit confusing, but I think that’s because of the suspense. I guess for me, because I still was not having a sense of certain things unfolding in the beginning of the story. It affected my interest. However, as you get to the end, the mystery of the plot is left on a cliffhanger and not the characters. So, this first book is definitely the foundation for the next books in the series.

ENJOYMENT:
I liked it, but did not love it. It dipped a few times causing my interest to dwindle and peak at other times. I didn’t get the feel of bully romance, more an enemies to lovers read. Although I felt as though the hate was more felt on Marni’s part.

CHEMISTRY:
Marni and Talon, they were good together. His dislike for her was not hardcore, but you still get to see the shift in him as he started to become possessive over Marni.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
Good. The four friends Tommy, Lars, Zed and Talon have an interesting relationship as one has gone rouge. I would have liked to have seen Marni with a few friends to balance this off. However, being held captive for revenge can make that a bit difficult.

Overall, dissecting this book, I had an interesting journey with it. Although I got lost sometimes, I still wanted to finish, as I was invested and curious, however, it’s still not completely solve and would need to read book 2.

Trigger(s): attempted rape

***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read and hope this review was helpful.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Let me just start with the things i liked.

- Marni is a strong heroine, she doesnt bow in front of Talon or fall weak in front of him

- The chemistry between Marni and Talon is amazing

- the suspense and plot kept me hooked

Things i didnt like

- it was very very confusing, from the beginning to the end it was confusing. I did like the suspense and why they targeted Marni but when the truth revealed it really didnt make sense. It was like the author tried to put suspense after suspense after suspense with many revelations that was supposed to be revealed at the end but it got all mixed up.

- even though there was amazing chemistry between Talon and Marni, i didnt feel the love between them. The book focused more on the suspense and bullying part but not them falling in love. Talon did get protective of her over time but they seemed more like friends with benefits than two ppl in love....i dont also think they confessed their love for each other but whatever.

- Marni accepted everything too easily, She learned so many secrets and also what happened to Talon but then she was like “oh god *sobs* ok next”. She was like a robot.

I hope book 2 is better cuz the plot is interesting..even tho its confusing.

I have read a few Rachel Leigh books and I have loved them but this one takes it to the next level.
When it says dark heed the warning. This book deals with some heavy topics and although there is a love element the book is filled with mystery and other challenging matters.

So many complicated issues are spoken about in this book and the abuse and neglect that these characters have experienced is heartbreaking. The way they interact with each other can be confronting. The ending in this just blows me away. That cliff hanger is, wow. I have read quite a few books with cliff hangers of late but this one was nothing like any of the others.

Four boys - Talon, Zed, Lars and Tommy. They all vow to get their revenge, one chance and victim at a time.

Marni, a young privileged woman who is just trying to find her way in life after her mother dies and her shady businessman of father is pretty much a void in her life. Her older brother has moved away so she is essentially all alone.
She ends up being at the wrong place at the wrong time at a party and overhears a conversation she should never have heard ---- or was she in the right place and she just didn't even know it.

What comes next is a bit of a wild ride. She now is in the Redwood Rebels clutches. They were the spiders and she is their prey trapped in their web of lies, deceit and revenge.

All of the Rebels have darkness in them and are a bit scary in their own way. Little by little, they open up to Marni and plans shift. Could she be used in a completely different way than they thought?
Feelings get in the way and some trade a bit of their darkness for a taste of the light. The light in Marni, but she also has secrets of her own!

This was a good read, filled with suspense, lust and revenge.

Striker was my first book by Rachel Leigh - and wow, this book just flashed me! I can't wait to read the next books in this series and I will definitely try to read more books from her backlist!

With this book I pulled an all-nighter because I couldn't put it down. It contains intriguing characters following a thrilling story line. The story pulled me in right from the first page. It covers many topics, some of them sensitive and definitely not for everyone. Some of them I wish we could have had a deeper insight, because I think they are important to characters backstories, showing why they are today the way they are.

If you are a fan of Penelope Doulglas' Devil's Night series and Meagan Brandy's Brayshaw series, you'll definitely love this book!

This was a rollercoaster.....

This was advertised as a bully romance and normaly, I really like those. Loved the Fall Away series by Penelope Douglas, especially Bully; so I thought I am going to like this book as well.

Maybe I am also partly to blame for not reading the trigger warnings beforehand, but when Marnie gets raped by another guy and Talon gets angry at her for "letting him do that" it just really wasn´t for me. She also never got revenge on her rapist, neither did Talon for her, although he is described as being ruthless und would kill anyone who touches her. He doesn´t even hit him or accuses him of rape or anything, he justs gets pissed at her.

I don´t like Victim shaming in my books at all, so this one gets one of the lowest ratings I ever gave.

“I don’t live in the darkness, the darkness lives in me.”

What did new-to-me author, Rachel Leigh, do to me?!? STRIKER ... just WOW!!! What a rush! What a read! Leigh blew me away with her brilliant writing, the hold-your-breath, block-out-the-world kind that sucks you in after a few words where you live, breathe, and become the book. I was such a goner for this story! Striker SLAYED ME me, a riveting roller coaster that rendered me awe-struck ... such a beautifully crafted, deliciously dark romance.

A tantalizingly thrilling, take-no-prisoners tale of a bold queen and her dark king along with the band of dark knights, who capture her—challenging her strength and soul, as they battle demons and walk through hell to find salvation—all to save their kingdom. Striker shows the value of life and love, of friends who become family, and the unbreakable bond that tethers them together.

The hot, beautiful, broken bad boy, Talon, has met his match in the sassy, stunning and strong, Marni, his North Star. This hero defines dark and I fell fast in love with the gritty and gorgeous Talon, feeling his struggle and his strength as his perfect match of a bold and beautiful heroine, Marni, becomes his salvation. I felt this hero and heroine so much! I was ENTHRALLED with their emotional journey and romance, which brims with delicious sexual tension, terror and tenderness. I was so head-over-heels for this love story!

Striker brings all the thrills and feels. I was awestruck over this beautifully crafted, deliciously dark romance. The push and pull, the anticipation, the delicious dialogue, the combustible chemistry, the heart-stirring suspense, and that walking-through-a-haunted-forest feel had me on edge and aching for more. UTTERLY INTOXICATING!!!

I burned for this BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN BOOK! A dark, gripping, heart-hitting tantalizingly twisted love story that grabs you from the first page and never lets go. I could do nothing except hold on tight and enjoy the wild ride. Striker is worth all the stars!

Romance readers, grab this dark delight. You’ll thank me later! 💜

Eeek! This book was pretty dark for me but, seriously, I couldn't put it down.

"The way his body is ghosting me at this moment makes me want to invite him to take all of me. To possess me. To corrupt me - mind, body, and soul."

Marni Thorn was in the wrong place at the wrong time. She thinks she has one over on Talon Porter and his posse, but little does she know that it's just the tip of the iceberg. Even in her desperation to be free of them, she can't help her compelling attraction to Talon. She's a pawn in their plans but, once she finds out a few truths, does she really have the choice to walk away or not?

"You're smart to fear me, but you'd be a fool to deny me."

This book was incredibly intriguing. There were so many secrets and revelations and still unanswered questions by the end of the story. The chemistry between Marni and Talon was uncontrollable and greedy. In spite of his plans, I loved how Marni affected Talon - someone whose heart hadn't been affected by finer feelings in a very long time. My heart broke for all the pain and horror he'd suffered, which made his tender feelings for Marni that much more beautiful. Marni herself is pretty lost and alone, in spite of the tough-girl façade she wears. In each other, they found someone to fill the empty places in their souls. I'll be honest and say that I thought this book was uncomfortable reading at times, which contrasted starkly against the more heartfelt moments. It was a dark, raw and fascinating read, and I can't wait for the next book.

trigger warnings: sexual assault, rape (more specific info below)

"No matter what side of him I see, there is no happy ending. Talon doesn't give a damn about me, all he cares about is making sure my lips are sealed."

Striker is a dark bully romance book and the first work in the Redwood Rebels series. Told in dual perspectives, this sexy and twisted tale pulls you in from the first sentence. I got a glimpse of this book in the Love At First Fright anthology where Rachel included a sneak peek. I was instantly hooked!

Our heroine Marni finds herself in a tricky situation when she overhears a secret that could destroy Talon and his friends' lives. The four dangerous boys make it their life's mission to keep her line with Talon at the forefront, blackmailing her to keep her silenced.

Talon has his own sinister plans and Marni finds herself trapped in his world. Talon isn't afraid to abuse his power to intimidate and control her but he doesn't expect her to fight back tooth and nail. This volatile and sexy pair like being at each other's throats but they didn't expect an attraction so intense and sexy to consume them. That said, the romance between Talon and Marni is HOT.

Rachel has created this wicked world in such an interesting way, its secrets enthrall you and drag you even deeper into the darkness. The mystery and suspense build-up is nothing like I expected. You think you know what's going to happen but Rachel pulls the rug right under you. The intoxicating story will keep you on your toes, you'll be dissecting everyone's motives and wondering who you can trust.

This was the first book that I've read by Rachel and I enjoyed it. I think the plot did get a little confusing but I anticipate that with the continuation of this series, things will become more clear. I definitely think this book could've been a 4-4.5 star but there was a dubious scene that I struggled with.

Overall, I would recommend this to dark romance lovers looking for a book with blush-worthy sex scenes and a whole lot of mystery. I know I will be reading the next installment.

Striker is a suspenseful, angsty, and provocative dark bully romance rife with secrets, lies, and betrayal. The perfect setup for a book so good I could read it in one sitting but you know L.I.F.E. has a way of mucking up your book dates.

Rachel Leigh is a new-to-me author and her first book in the 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐬 series did not disappoint. I was held spellbound from prologue to epilogue.
𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥: 𝙸 𝚍𝚘𝚗'𝚝 𝚖𝚎𝚎𝚝 𝚞𝚙 𝚠𝚒𝚝𝚑 𝚌𝚕𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚜.

It's senior year and the night before Halloween, which means Marni and her best friends are at a party. While there she overhears a conversation she shouldn't have and becomes an unwilling captive of the Renegades- Talon, Tommy, Lars, and Zed.

Things are supposed to stay platonic between the five but hormones have a way of changing outcomes. So do secrets, pact's be damned.

"𝑵𝒐 𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒍𝒆𝒇𝒕 𝒃𝒆𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒅. 𝑵𝒐 𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒇𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒆. 𝑾𝒆 𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒓 𝒘𝒆 𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒆 '𝒕𝒊𝒍 𝒘𝒆 𝒅𝒊𝒆."

The Renegades paint a twisted picture of blackmail and coercion. Mystery surrounds what Marni actually overheard that fateful night. Each time I would think "I've got it figured out!" my hopes shattered, heightening the suspense and leaving me longing for more.

All five have scars they hold inside, scars that have irreparably changed their lives. They are not your typical teenagers. They have experienced things in life that many adults haven't had to endure. As with all dark romances there are elements that may make people uncomfortable. Heed the author's warnings.

STRIKER is a standalone that builds onto the four book 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐬 series. I've since gathered that 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 is the parent series for the rebel books, though there is no need to read them beforehand. Characters appearances and past events were seamlessly integrated.

2.5 STARS

Well I didn't like this book as I thought I will. Beginning was good, with secrets going on, this kept me motivated. But somewhere in the middle of story a lot of things didn't add up anymore. This story lacks details, everything happens too quicky, without proper development, that is why a lot of things felt totaly unbelivable.

I won't continue with book #2 as I think it would be waste of my time.

“I Don't live in Darkness, Darkness lives in me.”
A Dark Fast-paced Twisty High school Bully Romance with Dangers, Damn messes, Secrets, Lies, Fun Banters, Betrayal, Painful Pasts and Fluttery Feelings!
The story's Heart-racing, & the Characters.. Some I totally love or Adore, Some I Straight-up hate, Some I Love/Hate!

#My 1st by Rachel, I'm totally going for more, Also gonna Read Redwood High Series Soon, it has Axel (Marni's big bro)'s book in it (Axel & his friends have a brief cameo here)!

The Story starts with Marni finding a Secret of our 4 Redwood Rebels (Talon, Lars, Tommy, Zed) which Makes her their Target *Oh shit*.
"All four of these guys are easy on the eyes. Each one holding his own appeal. They don’t have that athletic, jock appeal. They’re more grunge and darkness. Mysterious and alluring. There is a darkness about them....They’re loners, and for good reason—they have secrets—dark and dangerous secrets." ~Marni

Marni, Our Heroine, is Sassy, Feisty & Smart! I loved that she fought back the Bullying & made efforts to find the Truth. Talon's stupid Rich but so's her family.
Talon, our hero, is Quite Anti-Hero, Asshole & Jealous! But as Marni shreds away layers of him, we see his Dark, Deepness, Caring Nature & Possessiveness.

The guys take fast action so She won't tell anyone their secret, not that she'd tell anyway (as She doesn't Care).
Halloween & asylum, Incrimination, Move in, Destroying Evidences..
Talon keeps her close. If they fall, She'll Fall with them.

The What they did (THE secret) is deadly but their Why is THE Suspense.
She was meant to be just a pawn in His Revenge..but becomes so much more. Talon & Marni's Chemistry blazed right from the Start!
Living together, Parties, Sexy times, School, Searching for Truth, Bits & Pieces, Jealousy, Friends & Foes, Past hurts, Feelings Budding..

AND When the time For his endgame came..He just Can't. Can't hurt her. She changed Everything.
Well, He should've told her the plan & its truth from the start. She'll Help. If this'll Set his demons free, she'll Do it, It's Justice.
And..The Plan worked, but What happens Next..SUCH A TWIST!! *omg*
Someone even more Heartless has come to play..
But *Whew* All are *atleast for Now* safe & Talon+Marni are Blossoming in a Relationship *yay*.
Whole truths & Talks, Forgiveness, Tattoos, We're-In-this-Together Vibes!
Talon+Marni, Both are Kinky & Fucked up..Just perfect for Eachother! I Love these two😍.
"Trusting someone with my scars—my heart. It’s frightening, but it’s also beautiful." ~Talon

~Though We've still got this whole Murder Mystery to figure out!! The guy who'd died deserved it, but Who did it? Why? Where's the body?
I'm so excited to see where the story will go in the Next Book!

__Lets talk about the Friends__
Tommy, this boy, I adore him! Even part of the 4..He's so Sweet & Kind.
Zed, God he's Scary AF, Such a messed-up Guy, Did Fuckery here *Cringe*. And, we'll see in the next book just how far his hate goes..
Lars, I didn't develop any strong feelings toward him, is Fun. Nice guy with his own demons.
~Her Friends are great!

This was my first time reading something by Rachel Leigh and it surely won't be the last! Let me start off by telling you how much I love unrealistic YA Romances. They are the only ones I can read nowadays and this surely didn't disappoint. I LOVED this book. The characters and the story was just perfect! It has a great pace, it’s easy to follow long and keeps you guessing the entire time. I don’t think my phone/kindle could handle how much I was flying through the pages with this one. I didn't want to put this down. If you are looking for something steamy, suspenseful, dark, that’s vague and will leave you wanting more this is something you should pick up. I highly recommend reading this!!

I love, love this genre. Dark bully romance is one of my favorite tropes and this book slayed me! Talon and Marni set my Kindle on fire.
There is mystery, passion and incredible twists and turns.
This is my first book form this author but I fell in love with her writing. Love the descriptions, the character development and the pacing of this work.
I was invested in these characters from the first page and this book takes dark bully romance into a whole new level.
I highly recommend this book!!! If you are a fan of this trope, read it!

Wow

This is a first read for this author and I'm please to say that this was a very intense dark gritty read that has so many twist and turns that you will feel like you're on the edge of your seat reading.

Bully romances usually are not my favorite trope to read, but I've heard wonderful things about this author and decided go give it a try. That being said, I have so many conflicting emotions.

What i did like:
-Marni. I love strong heroines, and usually in bully romances the female main character lacks a spine, which makes it hard for me to get into the book. I loved how much she loves Talon, even when he's showing her the worst of himself.

-Talon. He wasn't a big asshole (like usual in bully romances) but he wasn't a softie either by any means. He has a lot of demons and doesn't let anyone close to him, but somehow Marni gets past his defenses, and even though he doesn't admit it at first, he definitely has intense feelings for this girl

- The storyline was interesting, but I would have enjoyed it more if it was more focused. I was confused most of the book and thought I had missed a prequel or something before this, but that wasn't the case. There was just way too much information at once. So I guess this is a 50/50 for me.

What i didn't really enjoy:
-Besides the confusing story (or maybe because of it?) I didn't feel a connection between our main characters. I felt their affection for each other on their own, but it was just lacking when they were actually together. And the author never really told or showed us why she fell in love with Talon in the first place, so that made it even harder for me to connect with them.

The author obviously set this book up to be a series with all the other guys involved, and I'm curious to see how that will turn out.

A good 3.5 star read
I enjoyed this book, but I didn't love it. I was expecting so much more from the book. Whilst the H and h had chemistry I never felt the love between them. The first 60% of this story dragged for me. And I just wanted answers which at the end of the book, it ending on a cliffhanger we do not get them. I'm not sure if I want to read the next book in the series to find them out either. My favourite parts were the steamy scenes, but sometimes they seemed forced and not at all how high school characters would behave. This was a common theme also. For a high school 'bully' romance, there wasn't much time spent on building that world. I know this is a spin-off from a previous series (which I haven't read) so that could be why. There is trigger warnings in this story, which are not acknowledged by the author. (attempted rape being one that stood out to me)
Overall, in the end, this was a good read. It may just be a great one for you! And if nothing else, we can enjoy staring at the gorgeous cover!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Apparently, I have a thing for bully-style books as of lately. Striker is like my third one this month. This book… oh man, all the feels.

Romance. A need for revenge. Suspense. Lust. A “secret society”. What more could you want?

I don’t speed read because I like to absorb all that I read; however, with Striker I blew through the book and now this book is all that I can think about. Ugh, it was so. Frigging. Good. Ready for the second book, like… yesterday.

Talon, although brooding and has many dark demons, is swoon worthy. Soon as you’re so sick of him, he does something that makes you like his character again. And Marni, she isn’t your usual female role – I found her to be very strong and not wimpy acting as many female leads are. It was refreshing. She didn’t let herself be a victim and actually tried to find information out.

My biggest issue with Striker is the lack of details – I don’t feel as if I really know what Marni, Talon or the other characters look like besides for their tattoos, and a few of their “dead-looking” eyes.

Despite that, Striker was AHMAZING! I’m so glad that I was able to receive an ARC of it. First book from Rachel Leigh and now I’m HOOKED.

I'm still unsure of how I feel about this book. I WANTED to love it. So I think I did go into this with high expectations.

The Pros;
- The cover is gorgeous. I mean who doesn't love some eye candy?
- The character development in the book was pretty good.
- The main character Marni was an enjoyable character. [ She wasn't whiny and didn't grate on my nerves like some have in the past.. so success? ]
- Marni is SMART. [ nothing worse than a dumb heroine character for me
- Reverse harem is a fantastic trope.
- the possessive. be still my heart, haha.
- the suspense was JUST enough.

The Cons;
-Some of the book was SLOW.
- I didn't LOVE all four of the guy's characters in generals.
- In some of these bully romance books, the bullying just seems so juvenile or overtly mean and therefore isn't the "fun" kind I enjoy in these darker romances. For me, there was a lot of that juvenile bullying here, and not enough of the playful type I guess?
- could have used more spice?

Overall, 4/5 stars for me. I'll definitely check others in the series!
