“Some mistakes are best repeated.”

When I read the two Jacob’s brother’s books, I was instantly curious about Mulaney. She is tough as nails and not like either of her brothers. She is one of those characters who you’ll either love or hate, and I’m happy to report I straight up loved her!

Mulaney Jacobs and Easton Carter are made for each other. Mulaney just can’t quite see it yet… Easton has known from the moment he met her, she was meant to be his. Mulaney is stubborn and career oriented. She loves her job, her family, and isn’t sure she has time for a relationship. Mulaney and Easton work together in his family business, and when things start to go array, they have to work together to figure it out.

Mulaney has been trying to steer clear from Easton, while Easton is trying his hardest to win her over. Now, they're working together closely and in close quarters… I couldn't wait to see how this would turn out!

What I loved most about Easton and Mulaney is how Easton saw who Mulaney really was and never wanted her to change. He loved her good, bad, and ugly. He loved her stubborn and her wild. It made my heart so happy that she found someone who embraced her and never wanted her to change.
“Heartbreaker, nobody could ever tame you, and if they tried, I’d stop them.”

Easton is a pretty amazing guy. I love how hard he loves Mulaney. He’s wonderful, but he’s not perfect. There was a part in this book that he really peeved me off, but I could understand where he was coming from. Mulaney stole the show for me. She’s my favorite kind of heroine. Fiercely loyal, speaks her mind, and is unapologetically herself. Also, I loved seeing her vulnerable side with Rage. It brought me to tears.

The only thing I didn’t love about this one was the side story with the business. Personally, it focused a little too heavily on that for my tastes and I saw the ‘rat’ from a mile away. The suspenseful element wasn’t too heavy, I just wanted more of Mulaney and Easton's love story and less of it. I also understood why it was so important to their story so it’s kind of a tricky thing to change. And just to say, I’m SO excited that this book promises that Carlos book is next because he’s intrigued me so much! And his leading lady is introduced… gah! Can’t wait!

This book hooked me from the start and I was captivated. It felt so good to be back with the Jacobs clan! This can definitely be read as a stand-alone, but all the books are so good I recommend you read the whole series! The writing is strong, the characters are outstanding, and overall I loved it! If you’re looking for a contemporary romance with a lot of familial elements, friendship, and romance, pick this one up!!

3.5 Yummy Easton Stars

I love the Paths of Love series. I fell madly in love with Daniel and Viv. Rooted for Stone and Muriella's HEA. Enjoyed the sweetness of deep love and second chances with Juliana and Mitch. And I have been looking forward to Sassy, tough Mulaney, and bad boy Carlos getting their own books. Though it makes me sad to say, as much as I liked this book, I didn't love it like I loved the others. Don't get me wrong, the plot and the writing is good. I really loved Easton, but Mulaney kinda got on my nerves. Which really shocked me. I loved her in past books. The problem was next to cheating my second biggest reading pet peeve is cowardly behavior, and Mulaney's running in fear from her feelings was too much for my liking.

Easton really carried this book for me. He was sexy and loyal and loved Mulaney something fierce. I loved how he pushed Mulaney's buttons, but knew when to give space, too. I really really loved that even while he gave Mulaney space to deal with her fear he didn't come off like a doormat. Which sometimes happens when one mc is pushing and pulling away in a love story. Easton had dignity and confidence. I totally loved him. Mulaney I had a harder time with. At times in the read I was reminded of the Mulaney from books past. Strong, smart, sassy and unafraid to speak her mind. Then at other times I wanted to shake some sense into her. I loved Easton and Mulaney together when she pulled her head from her butt and gave into her feelings. They had good sexual tension and made a great couple.

The plot was really good. I was shocked at who the "Bad Guy" turned out to be. I loved getting to see past couples again. Anytime I get more Daniel is a total win for me. The part with Ruby broke my heart. I was glad it didn't go the way I feared. I love me some sassy Ruby. Easton's parents were so supportive and sweet. I ate up every moment with Carlos. OMG the the tension between Carlos and Holly. I can't wait to see what is happening there. I really need more Carlos in my life. Overall a pretty good read. While this book isn't one of my favorites in the series, I'm very much looking forward to the next one, and would highly recommend this whole series if you are looking for a sexy contemporary romance with delicious heroes.

When I first met Mulaney Jacobs I wasn't sure if I could like her character. She came off as very headstrong, a little cold, and didn't hint at too much else about her personality. But I would be lying if I said she didn't intrigue me, especially when it came to her secrets. Despite my reservations going into this story, I was really surprised to find that I actually loved Mulaney. Getting to dig deeper into her character and discovering what was behind that shield if ice queen had me discovering a completely different side to her, a side that I really liked and found relatable.

And Easton was just as fun to read about. These two had some intense chemistry that led to amazing sexual tension between them. The little hints of his and Mulaney's past had me captivated and the first time I read their story I had to stop myself from speed reading just to see if my theory about them was correct. I loved that reading experience and how invested it got me into the story. Along with the other little mystery going on through the pages that I was equally intrigued with.

Overall, this book is a really fun and sexy read and one I definitely recommend reading. I would say that it could be read as a standalone but I do think that reading at least Three Dates would give you more insight into these characters and have you enjoying them more.

SO many questions starting out... I absolutely love these kind of drama-filled love stories. It's set at a family owned oil company in Houston, and I swear, it gave me all kinds of "Dallas" vibes--in the BEST possible way... (like first season Dallas). There's glamour, intrigue, SEXY, and so many questions to keep you flipping those pages.

I love when a heroine is strong and feisty, and Mulaney is that in spades. Easton is perfect for her... Trust me, you don't want to miss this one! Highly recommend!!!

Mystery abounds in this story! How can you trust your father, when the family business has been sold to another in NY? Why all of a sudden the company has been sold instead of a merger as previously planned? This story is full of mystery, intrigue, accusations, lies, and surprising twists. Grahame Claire puts everything in perspective in the end , with many " I didnt see that coming! " moments! Each book in this series gets better. So far, this is my favorite. If you want something romance centered, this is not it. For me, this was too much the other things and not enough of them. FOR ME.
I really liked Easton and the longing he had for Mulaney to come around. Goshhh loved that.

Mulaney's strength had become a balm to me. Her love my shield.

Such strong emotions!

4,5 stars

This series is so intense, so strong and evoke so many deep and raw emotions.
This book is no different. This is a standalone, but it's also part of the Paths to Love Series, and I totally recommend you read the previous books. They are all breathtaking.

We've met Easton and Mulaney before, but we saw more about Mulaney and her family, the Jacobs. She is such a troublemaker. She is driven, independent, strong, she never backs down and she is stubborn as hell. She is also loyal, caring and she stops at nothing to protect someone she loves.
But she's also vulnerable and she carries such a big secret that has been consuming her so much, because of though she loves what she is hiding, she is so scared of aknowledging it.

Luckily she's met her match, and Easton won't make it easier for her to run away from her secrets, her feelings and their connection.
Easton is loyal and driven as well. He is also fair, patient and a family man. He does everything for the people he loves and he carries all the burdens that are thrown at him if that means his family will be ok.
And if there is one thing he knows how to do is love. Just like Mulaney, he loves with everything he's got, but opposite from her, he is not afraid of being vulnerable about, and that is exactly his strength.

They were always bumping heads, going around and around their love, their chemistry and so many information that threw them off course. Being surrounded by secrecy, it was hard for them to know what was the truth, but their hearts always spoke louder.

But, my God, they needed to improve their communication. There was so much at stake, but at the end of the day, when it was clear that love and family are supposed to be the priority, they knew what should be done.

They were volatile together, they antecipated each other's needs, they were a wonderful team. They were stronger apart, but they were invencible together.

This book had so many emotions swirling around, I laughed, I felt anger, I got frustrated, I was aghasted, I was afraid, I felt such a deep connection, I was intrigued and I rooted so much for them.

Another thing that I loved about their story (and this series shows this a lot) was how close they were to their families. It was wonderful to watch, they were all supportive, they all loved fiercely and it fillled my heart with love.

This book is amazing. I hardly took a break once I started reading.! Easton and Mulaney have been in each other's life for a long time. Their families are friends, they work together, they are intertwined in almost every way. There is a bit of trouble brewing for The Carter's energy company and they figure out that they must work together instead of against each other and actually communicate to get to the bottom of it.
I think Mulaney is one of the most stubborn heroines ever! She's a runner. She made me so mad, but I didn't hate her. I didn't like her much in the beginning , especially in the way she was with Easton, but I understood her pain. I saw a different side of her with Leona. She's an amazing aunt. Easton is awesome! He didn't deserve what Mulaney put him through, but he took it because he knew she was it for him and I think he understood her. It was wonderful seeing The Jacobs family as well as Daniel and Viv again! Ruby is somebody I want to know in real life and Stone, I think he will always be my favorite! I loved seeing and getting to know the rest of The Carter family! Although the Carters need to learn how to communicate better. I hurt for what they are going through. Oh, I can't forget Ragnor! What a beautifully written animal, I can picture him so clearly! His behavior and the pain I actually felt from him made me cry ! I can't wait for Carlos and Holly! I hope Carlos will lay a smackdown on Drew! I wouldn't want to mess with Carlos! Heartbreaker is a wonderfully written book that demonstrates love and loyalty in every capacity! I loved the love, the intrigue, and the growth of all the characters. This is a must read!

⭐️ Heartbreaker - NOT

No the h is more of a “ Richard “ & I hate it that the H let himself to be a doormat, no this is not some positions switch I need to read

This is not about empowering women - there’s a fine line between over demanding, selfish and inspiring women to be a strong personality through a book

If you follow kick boxing less this book will be a good trigger for you

I’m giving up this author as so called the only one person which behave so bad towards main characters could just walk away with billions on his pocket afterwards , never mind he emblazoned billions company money’s and keep the main characters head to head after getting married all the trickiest , dirties trick to keep them apart , the excuses ? Oh well he is the brother of H

Suddenly our strong controlling h also just on with it
This is really giving me zen energy and stay away from this author book for a while

Heartbreaker, aka Mulaney Jacobs only had one weakness and that was Easton Carter. However, secrets were trying to destroy them and mystery abounds.

Keeping a distance between them hasn’t worked. With the sale of the company and the move to New York things are about to get tighter and a whole lot hotter.

But is what they want is each other? Who will be the first to give in? Well, unfortunately if I told you that then you wouldn’t have to read the book. Trust me. You never want to miss a Grahame Claire book.

If this is your first book of Grahame’s that you are reading, I totally recommend starting at the beginning of the series. I promise you won’t regret it.

The writing and characters in this book are exceptional. You learn to really love family from their story, and rightfully so. For Easton and Mylaney, they have a love most of us search for faults and all. I can not wait for the next book and hope this family never runs out of books. Hint hint. I highly recommend you read this great story. I promise you won't be disappointed.

I thought this was a stand-alone book in the series. It's not. There are way too many characters with pasts I know nothing about, nor do I care. The two main characters are unexplainably angry and in the middle of a crisis that goes nowhere - at least for the first 25% of the book. That would be where I gave up. I don't usually quit books, but this one gave me no reasons to stay with it.

I'm absolutely speechless -- Mulaney and Easton kept me up way past my bedtime last night because I couldn't stop reading their story! Incredible writing from this duo of authors that never ceases to amaze me with their awesome ability to draw you into their characters' lives. Words escape me when I try to formulate a review after reading their work but I'll try because these books so deserve my praise. We first met Mulaney in Three Dates and I knew she was going to be a force to be reckoned with and she certainly didn't disappoint. I love smart, tough female leads who fight their softer side only to show us that they love just as hard as they work. And Heartbreaker/Mulaney fights hard for who and what she loves. Easton....oh Easton, he has so many traits I love but the big one for me is his desire to love Mulaney without trying to change her--everyone needs an Easton in their life! I love the Jacobs and Carter families so much and want to be part of their group. I can't pick a favorite among these Paths to Love books because they're all perfect in their own right. My suggestion is to get them all and start reading right now! These authors have quickly risen to the top of my "must read" list of authors of all time. Absolutely Incredible! 10+ stars!

“I’ve been patient. I’m not giving up what’s mine. And I’ll do whatever I have to do to keep it. To keep you.”

If you haven't started the Paths to Love series by Grahame Claire then you really need to. Each book is about a different couple and can be read as standalones but I urge you to read them in order. Really you can't be a beast and read them all willy nilly out of order. That would be so silly ;0

Easton is a man determined to get his girl, Mulaney is determined to thwart him at every turn but sometimes those feelings that you have buried deep down surface far too often and soon you can't run away fast enough.

I loved these two so much. Their push and pull and the interactions with the other characters I've already fallen for was just so exciting to read. Loved it as I have the other books and can't wait for more after that ending. Wonder what those other ones are up to?

The Untameable One in Misguided Love

Heartbreaker is the ultimate deal in a story of a crazy kinda family that makes your heartache with want!! OMG Easton and Mulaney sure wanted and needed one another throughout this great hot sexy, slow burning read! Grandma Ruby had me rolling with laughter in this wonderful, loving family that were so glued together with so much love! The unexpected twist that you will never see coming will blow your mind! Family jealousy also makes you empathise with this superb read by 2 inimitable authors.
This series Paths to Love just gets better and better with each book and will always be highly recommended by me as the perfect unconditional love stories of all time!

This book is captivating right from the beginning. It was everything I wanted and more. Mulaney and Easton’s story is breathtaking and one of a kind.

We have read a little about Mulaney in the other two books but in Three Dates it definitely left me intrigued. I wanted to know more about her.

Mulaney is a strong independent woman. She has a secret and she doesn’t want anybody to find out.
Easton is the perfect gentleman that waits patiently.

Mulaney and Easton are the perfect couple but will they be able to break the barriers that separate them or those obstacles that are thrown at them?

This story will take you through a rollercoaster of emotions but it will definitely lead you to the mis amazing story.

Easton and Mulaney have known each other for years. Have even been friends but the last several months she avoids him at all costs. She has been a part of Carter Energy and his family since college. When their world starts to implode will they be able to trust one another?

Heartbreaker could be read as a standalone but the characters carry forward throughout the series. I was so hooked by this book I read Heartbreaker almost in one sitting. The duo that makes up Grahame Claire know how to bring you all the emotions. I love these characters and the family they have created. I can’t wait for the next book!

I have loved everything that I have read by Grahame Claire & I can’t wait to see what they come up with next! I highly recommend.

Grahame Claire is a phenomenal writer! Heartbreaker is another MUST read in the Paths to Love Series. Mulaney is a smart, stubborn and feisty character that is full of pride. Easton wears his heart on his sleeve when it comes to her. I fell in love with this couple and their journey. The added bonus that kept me entertained was having their family make many appearances throughout the book. Secrets are uncovered that I didn't see coming.

Although this is book three in the Paths to Love Series, it can be read as a standalone. I highly recommend reading this book! Heartbreaker by Grahame Claire will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ELITE!!!

Mulaney & Easton

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 = 4.5
I honestly enjoy all Grahame Claire’s books! I was excited to see the next book was Mulaney's story but to be honest I thought Mulaney was partnering with someone else and not Easton! This was a great surprise!

I love the chemistry between Mulaney and Easton and her quick wit is always amazing to witness in the books.

Mulaney finds herself in an all mans business world she needs to make sure she keeps her persona a certain why so she is taken seriously at all times. Raised with brothers and a strong family dynamic she is no one to mess with. She is strong and her personality will set you straight when needed.

After several years living the business life and climbing the corporate ladder, their just might be space for change in her life. She may welcome someone finally into her heart but will her stubbornness be so open to it...

Easton has been in love with Mulaney since they were kids. He has given her space to grow and keep rejecting him but he’s had enough. He is on a mission to make it clear to her, they belong together and will stay together.

The story is full of twist and turns and tons of suspenseful moments. The situation with Drew kind of left me hanging... I honestly felt after going so far, will he really let it go that easy...?

Next up is Holly story which is linked to Drew I’m curious if his saga will continue into hers and Carlos story..

I’m looking forward to the next one!!!

Plot holes and development

2.5 stars

As a whole this book is a decent read. The family values and feminine forward push are solid undercurrents. However, it’s hard to focus on those things when the main characters are so difficult to bandwagon. You want to root for them but don’t get the development from them you need to do so. The plot has holes in several instances that leave you knowing exactly what’s going to happen to being terribly confused at what is actually happening. All in all, it was worth the effort to finish but would have been more enjoyable if the big secret wasn’t so obvious and the crisis and conflict in their relationship was most substantial. The lack of communication and desire to understand just doesn’t cut it for me.
