Crosby to visit hometown with Cup

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia -- Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is bringing the Stanley Cup to his hometown.

Crosby will arrive in Nova Scotia on Aug. 7, the day he celebrates his 22nd birthday.

Organizers of the event say Crosby will lead a parade through Cole Harbour to kick off the visit. A fan question-and-answer session is also planned with Crosby.

The Penguins won the Stanley Cup in a seven-game final against the Detroit Red Wings.

Organizers say they are also planning a hall of fame dedicated to Crosby that will include the famous dented clothes dryer the forward used as target practice in his parents' basement.
