This event is an overnight marathon of hacking (May 22-23 in New York City) in which participants will conceptualize, create and present their projects/apps/hacks in 24hrs. Anything goes as long as it's created onsite. Deckware is strongly discouraged. We'll have optional API workshops by companies such as Facebook at the start during registration for anyone who needs a refresher.
What You Get by Coming
In addition to caffeine, pizza, and glory, all hackers who stay the entire time and present a result during our closing judging period will gain a free registration pass to attend Disrupt, TechCrunch's 3-day conference on media and technology. (More info at
http://disrupt.techcrunch.com/) The top team will win a chance to demo onstage Wednesday May 26th to the entire 1,000-person Disrupt audience, including the VC and angel investors judging Disrupt's Startup Battlefield. This winning team will have Sunday -Wednesday to continue to refine their product.
Who's Hacking?
Space for this event is limited but we encourage everyone to sign up--we'll do our best to accommodate you. We're most interested in ensuring that we have a good mix of people who are prepared to build something or contribute in some other valuable way. If you're not a developer/hacker/designer or aren't able to attend both days then we will be inviting people to come and watch the final demos at 9am on Sunday. The overall hack period runs 8pm --8am, followed by judging, for a total of about 15 hours onsite.
We'll send out a confirmation email as the date approaches and will try to accommodate as many as we can.
