Serrano FamilyGoFundMeHello, my name is Khaitlyn Serrano, and with a heavy heart I am making this gofund me for my family who are victims of the West Maui Lahaina fire. My family like many other local families who live in Lahaina have lost their house, their belongings, and their jobs. We are blessed to still have each other through these hard times, however, our faith and love alone will not keep our family afloat for very long. So now I humbly ask you if you’re reading this to at least consider helping to support them financially. I ask that if you have ever crossed paths with any one in our family that you now come forward to help us. I ask that if you live outside of the islands you not only consider helping them but our whole community as we are burning through resources. Maui is in distress and her people are suffering, we are only 7 of the thousands who need help and care. All of these proceeds will go directly to my family and will be used to start the healing and rebuilding process from this devastating event.

Imagine losing your home, your possessions, and the sense of security that comes with it, all in a matter of moments. Cherie, a devoted mother, her two sons, Elijah (11) and Lucas (15), and their three beloved dogs are now faced with the daunting task of rebuilding their lives from scratch. Together, we can provide them with the hope and resources they need to move forward and create a brighter future. Or donate via Venmo

Pascua ʻOhanaGoFundMeOur names are Candice and Brigette we are the cousins, nieces, and granddaughters of the Pascua Ohana. As many of you know, the island of Maui went through a terrible lost on August 8, 2023. The Pascua Ohana lost their home and everything else like many in the community, leaving behind nothing but ashes and wonderful memories. In their household was our late grandfather Papa Willie, our grandmother Mama Imelda, our Aunt Libby, Aunty Malia, Uncle Wilbert and their five children Shae, Jayden, Wai'i, Kona and Ku'u. We are raising some money to help them rebuild what they lost not only for a new home but a sense of security and faith as well during this terrible tragedy. All of the money will be going directly to our family. Anything helps, we appreciate your support during this tough time. If you are unable to donate please pray over them and simply share this page. Please continue to pray for Maui and for people that lost family, friends and their homes as well. #MauiNuiStrong Or donate via Venmo

Rhey Pasalo and FamilyGoFundMeAloha, my name is Rhey P @ Lahaina hawaii. My family is one of many who have been affected by the Lahaina fires. We escaped from the fires with only the clothes on our back. Sadly, we lost everything, including the place we called home and all of our belongings. Our family is finally all together after being separated for days without any contact. We’re so grateful to all be together and we thank God our family is safe. It’s with a heavy heart that we ask for your kōkua. In times like these, anything big or small will be greatly appreciated. Mahalo. Or donate via Venmo

Halyer PasaloGoFundMeHi, my name is Kenette Quimangan and I’m fundraising for Halyer Pasalo. Those who knows him personally can vouch for him, because of his kind soul and Down-to-earth approach. He lost literally everything in his possessions since he was young. His Parents house was totally engulfed from the ground up, leaving piles of unrecognizable debris behind. Knowing all his efforts, blood, sweat and tears turns to ashes in just a blink of an eye kills me deeply inside. I know, there is no amount of money or wealth will ever bring back ALL the memories or his possessions, or his parents house, at least we can all be apart of a great start, as Halyer and his Parents rebuild their lives back in a new start. I thank you all for your support and love! God bless all of you! Or donate via Venmo

Aviva and Nakana LibitskyGoFundMeMy name is Jared Libitsky proud twin brother of Aviva Libitsky. Many have had the privilege to call my Sister a loyal family member and friend. My sister and her son tragically lost their home and belongings due to the fires in West Maui/Lahaina. If you are lucky enough to know my sister, she is literally the definition of kind and giving. She has the biggest heart and has always helped others. My heart goes out to all of my Ohana in Maui and hope that you can find in your heart to contribute whatever you can to my twin sister and her son who are going through a very difficult time. Or donate via Venmo
12
Laborte FamilyGoFundMeI'm raising money for my sister-in-law and her family. Suzanne and Junior have been married for a few years and have two little ones - five years and ten months. With the wildfires this week in Lahaina, they lost their home, and both their places of work are gone too. Junior worked at a local Kava bar and taught surf lessons. Suz managed the surf shop. The flames came up right behind their house, they grabbed the kids, a few items, and the dog and fled. Suzanne and Junior are very connected to the Lahaina community, and anything raised over the goal will go back to support the community. They weren't the only ones who lost all their belongings and place to live. Their whole neighborhood is gone. Anything you can contribute will help. Or donate via Venmo

Emily KunzGoFundMeWe are raising funds for our best friend Emily, a Lahaina business owner and resident. On Tuesday 8/8, she preemptively evacuated her condo with just the clothes on her back and 2 dogs, Pumpkin and Chopper. She and the pups are safe, but her car, home, and Lahaina business, Choice Health Bar, were all lost in the fast-moving wildfire that devastated our little town of Lahaina. Emily has been a Lahaina resident for over 13 years and cherishes being an active part of her community. She is the most kindhearted person we know and would offer anything she had to help a friend - and we’re hoping to do the same to help get her back on her feet. Insurance may cover some of the financial burdens, but insurance claims will take extended periods due to the magnitude of loss on our island. She will use the funds to secure a place to live and purchase the essentials. There’s a long recovery road ahead: anything you can contribute to jumpstart her journey is beyond appreciated. Or donate via Venmo

Thank you so much for your generosity!

My family was directly impacted by the Lahaina wildfire that took place on August 8th, 2023.With this fund, it will go directly towards my family as they rebuild during this time. What the enemy tried to steal, kill, and destroy, God is turning it around to give them life and life more ABUNDANTLY.This is truly a time of rebuilding. Anthony, Rea and AJ Heintz GoFundMeThis GoFundMe is to help us rebuild our lives from what we have lost in the Lahaina wildfires. We had 15 minutes to self evacuate from the fire and wind storm on August 8, 2023 that completely burnt our homes to the ground shortly after we evacuated. We lost everything except what we evacuated with. Any amount of help will be a huge blessing to us through this relocation process and hopefully we will be able to live back in our home town of lahaina that we love so much. Mahalo,Tony, Rea and AJ

Edwin and Ratna HeilscherGoFundMeWhile I live in Colorado, my Uncle Edwin and his wife Ratna have lost their long-time home, car, and most of their possessions to the Lahaina Fire. Communication with them had been spotty, but they are currently safe in a shelter on Maui along with so many of the other residents who have lost their homes. No one knows how long they will have to stay in a shelter while the island rebuilds. It's easy to dismiss the tragedy in Lahaina as far away and affecting only lucky rich people who have to means to live elsewhere. This is not the case for the many service workers who keep the island running. All funds contributed will be transferred directly to Edwin and Ratna to help them secure housing and replace essentials lost in the fire.
17
Stephanie Ash and FamilyGoFundMeAs most of you now know the wildfires in Hawaii, namely Lahaina, have left utter devastation in their wake. One of the families affected are very dear friends of ours, Stephanie Ash. Rodney Haia is an active member of the Maui County police department and has been working the frontlines to help assist with the aftermath from the fire. Unfortunately they have lost their home and everything they owned due to fire. As they go throughout their trials over the next several months it would be a blessing if they had the necessary resources to re-build their life. Small donations from all of us can make big differences for them. All donations will be given directly to Stephanie and her family. Or donate via Venmo
18
Ariana GuarnierGoFundMeAriana and her two kids, unfortunately lost their home and all their belongings in the devastating fires that destroyed historic Lahaina town. With barely time to flee from the flames, they were only able to grab their pets and go. If you know Ariana, you know she is a very kind and giving person and is not the type to ask for help from others. With her permission I have created this gofundme to help raise recovery funds for her and her kids. Her house was on lower Lahainaluna road. These funds will be used by Ariana and her family as they see fit in order to get back on their feet and rebuild their life. Any amount of donation is welcome and appreciated.

Garcia/Rickard ʻOhanaGoFundMeFour generations, living in one household, lost everything from the fires in Lahaina on August 8, 2023. Mely Garcia shared her home with her daughter Cathy (plus Cathy’s partner, Wally), grandchild Cierra (plus Cierra’s partner, Mark), and three great-grandchildren (Jadyn, Aliyah, and Aryah) with Cierra expecting another by late December. But the fire took away their only sense of place and security. This chapter of their lives, unfortunately, now ends. Around noon of August 8, the family started cooking lunch outside. Cathy noticed a part of one of their trees was on fire. She quickly alerted the family, they gathered all family members and quickly fled for safety. Everyone was accounted for; however, everything was lost while embers quickly engulfed the surrounding area. Or donate via Venmo

Zachary, Stephanie and Kalia DentGoFundMeWe have all heard about the devastating fires on Maui that destroyed Lahaina town where Zach, Stephanie, their 1-year-old daughter Kalia, and extended family live. We are so thankful that they were able to escape safely, but they have lost so much and are facing an uncertain time ahead as it might be months or more before they can get back home, whatever home will look like. Zach was born and raised in Lahaina. Stephanie has brought so much to the Maui community, bringing medical care, love, and energy to the island. Funds will assist in covering housing, food, and loss of wages. Or donate via Venmo

Abut-Nero FamilyGoFundMeOn August 8th 2023 a fire swept through the town of Lahaina and has burned it to the ground. My parents, sister, aunties, uncle, and cousins had barely made it out to their cars as the fire raged around them. They are alive and well for which we are blessed. Everything that has been in our family for over 40 years, all the memories we have collected and even those brought over from the Philippines just gone in a matter of minutes. This fund will be going to my parents Edwin and Helen Abut, sister Marlene Abut, aunty Lita Abut and the Nero family: Clarita, Virgilio, Danika, and Kiara. We thank you for any support you can provide for our family, no donation is too small and prayers are always welcome.

Kathleen Baniqued and ʻOhanaGoFundMeKathleen Baniqued from Lahaina, Maui; has lost everything, including her home, pets & all of her belongings due to Hurricane Dora & the fires.Thankfully, she & her family were able to evacuate just in time before their home burned down, and are safe, but are now left with nothing but the clothes on their backs. She is enrolled as an upcoming freshmen at SDSU & was anticipating to fly down to San Diego & move into her dorm next week, but now unsure of her future due to this unprecedented disaster. I know there are many going through tough times, but if you can find it in your hearts and are able to assist, please help Kathleen pursue her education at SDSU, as well as help for her family; to slowly try to rebuild again. No amount is too small and any amount will be truly & sincerely appreciated. Or donate via Venmo

Jordan Cabanilla and ʻOhanaGoFundMeI have known Ana and her beautiful family since the first day I moved to Maui in 2018. She welcomed me with open arms and so did her family. They became my Ohana. Ana, her family and extended family have always been there for everyone else that needs a hand, and the way they help others is beyond words. Both of them also work very hard to provide for their kids, Jade, AJ and Ethan. Ana and Jordan were impacted by the destruction of the fire in Lahaina and lost everything. Everything happened so fast and it is an unbelievable tragedy for them and everyone in Lahaina. I ask for your support and kindness donation, anything will help them and the kids rebuild their home.
24
Nate Castro and ʻOhanaGoFundMeDue to the devastating wildfires, my brother Nate watched in horror as his house, neighborhood and island burned to the ground, losing his home, his belongings and all his memories built over his lifetime. We are grateful that he was able to evacuate within minutes of the fire engulfing his house, not everyone had the same outcome. There are thousands on the island of Maui, specifically in the town of Lahaina, who are in even worse situations. In addition to losing all their material possessions, some have also lost loved ones. The devastation that has occurred is beyond comprehension as they are still realizing the extent of the loss.
25
Oliveti-Va'a 'OhanaGoFundMeWe are the family of Nesi (Oliveti) and LJ Vaʻa. On August 8, 2023 our sister and her family found themselves in one of the most devastating and deadliest wild fire’s in American history. In the middle of panic, stress, and fear, Nesi and her family continued to think of others. She has always been the first to give and the first to answer the call to help. But will be the last to ask for help. So we, her family, are asking on her behalf. Please consider helping our sister and her family to rebuild their lives and recover from this catastrophic event. And continue to pray for hers and all the families affected.
26
Leopoldino 'OhanaGoFundMeAloha, my name is Kapua Leopoldino my husband Busta Leopoldino and our 5 children lost our home and all personal items to the fire that wiped out our beloved town of Lahaina on August 8th, 2023. David Sanchez & FamilyGoFundMeMy name is David Sanchez, I have two boys six and seven we lived in the same address for 10 years before the fires. We lost everything other than a few items and the clothes in our backs. My boys lost their school. I lost my work we were able to make it out of the fires, after watching the neighborhood burn up without much notice or concern we finally left at 8:50 PM. Where we got the first evacuation notice sadly assume that everything would be OK and we left a family member and loved one Kirk, who was unable to make it out unharmed. He is among those that lost their lives.
28
Lukela Ohana/ Kahahane (Mary Ann) OhanaGoFundMeOur 9 generational home built by our great greats and greats were one of the many family homes destroyed to ash in Lahaina on August 8th. My ohana have been all split up now enduring the process of Red Cross and fema. Our beautiful beloved home was refuge and safe haven for all of us and many others. It was our nest that we could never stay far from for too long. Now that we all have to start new and fresh it’s a long due process. The stress of rebuilding lives and our home puts a burden on our shoulders financially stressing on the day to day and more so future. We will rebuild but first we look into the current moment of needs, bills and a start in life.

Charity & Cameron VezieGoFundMeMy name is. Charity Vezie. My husband and I have both lived in Lahaina for the majority of our lives. I was honored to go to college here for nursing and was later blessed to practice nursing in our amazing little community for almost 2 decades. My husband Cameron was a bartender at Waikiki Brewery and before that Hula Grill for many many years. On January of 2023 we were fortunate enough to purchase our first ever home. A little condo on Front street. A dream come true.
Like so many, on August 8th, we barely escaped the flames with our lives. We fled on bicycles to safety. We lost everything that day. We survived with only the clothes on our backs and gratitude in our hearts. We are grateful beyond measure for the outpouring of love, efforts and altruism for the Lahaina community.

We started our small family in Lāhainā, and had our first son in 2014, and bought our home in 2015. Our home was so special to us because it was right across the street from my grandparents and and also next door to my uncle and his family! I grew up on Pauwala Place since the day I was born and plan to raise all our children in our amazing town! We now have 5 children (Kiwa, Maya, Alia, Kota and Kyra).

Niki and Teanu McCabeVenmoOur little family like most lost their house and everything in it on August 8th from the fire in Lahaina. We were both born and raised right here in Lahaina town and graduated in 2011 from Lahainaluna High School. My husband Teanu and I have been together for 13 years, just bought our house in 2022 and had our daughter Keida 5 months before the fire. We love our Lahaina town and community. Christine Kinney, Sage Ora-a, Sharon Serafica, Billy Serafica GoFundMeWe abruptly had to flee our home from the Lahaina fires. Our home was the Front Street Apartments. We lost everything as many families during this horrible time did. We are all feeling lost and still in shock. This GoFund supports myself and my 7 year old granddaughter as well as my parents who also lost everything. It is beyond belief what has happened. Everything gone in minutes. We fled our home as the embers were coming down on us. Luckily we were able to grab my 3 rescue cats and a few personal items. There was not even time to grab my only son’s ashes who left us last March. This year has just been tragic and I really need a break. No more, please. I have applied for FEMA but we must start from literally scratch. It’s been almost 6 months since my granddaughter and I lost everything in the Lahaina fires. We have had some support but we are still struggling so much. I can’t afford to stay at this short term rental in Kula with my parents and grandchild but at this point struggling to make ends meet. The generosity of our Maui Ohana has been so incredible. Maui is our home and we can’t even fathom leaving.
36
Pierson Family ( Kesha Pierson and Romon Pierson)GoFundMeAloha, my name is Kesha Pierson and I made this on behalf of my father, Eugene(60)and I. My father raised me in Lahaina for 20 years and I graduated LHS in 2020, this our home. We were already struggling to get into a place because father is disabled and has a serious heart condition. So to lose our miracle home that we finally got into is heartbreaking. My father and I are currently looking to get a car as that will open up our options to more housing opportunities. This car would be helpful to help get my father back and forth to his doctor’s appointments that he has often. Anything helps, no matter how big or small. If you're unable to donate, please share within your networks to expand our reach. Mahalo for the support!!!

Rhea Galuardo & 'OhanaGoFundMeHi everyone, my name is Rhea Galuardo. My family and I have lived in Lahaina our entire lives. This is where we’ve started raising our two wonderful boys. Unfortunately on August 8th, 2023, like many families, we lost our home and all of our belongings. There are no words to explain all of the emotions and everything in between but we are beyond grateful that we have each other and were able to escape. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity towards my family and I! We truly appreciate your help, especially during these times of uncertainty and sadness.

Vierra 'OhanaGoFundMeWe are Jazmyne and Cn, ‘Ohana Vierra. We used to call the shelter in Lahaina our home. It was a place where we felt safe, where we shared dreams and built a life together, despite the hardships. Then came the fire. It swept through Lahaina like a nightmare, leaving nothing but ashes in its wake. We lost everything that day, not just our belongings, but our sense of security, our home. In the aftermath, the Red Cross offered us a glimmer of hope, a place in a hotel. But that hope was short-lived. We were informed that because we were living in the shelter before the fire, they considered that “homeless, and we didn’t qualify for further assistance. Two days after Christmas, we found ourselves with nowhere to go, and had to move everything into our car. We are 8 months pregnant, with our healthy baby girl due next month.

Her siblings De Andre Makakoa, Taina La Bat-Polanco, Nui La Bat-Alconcel all have young babies. Their grandmothers house is also gone. This family has been in Lahaina for generations. This is more than their home. This is their identity, their heritage, their history. Gone, with not a single momento left of any of it. Or donate via Venmo

Tony's Taxi Lahaina (Kathy Ngo and Tony Truong)GoFundMeTony and Kathy are both immigrants to Maui who have been here for over 30 years. Both have made a happy life for themselves here, creating successful businesses and allowing them to provide for themselves and their extended families. Kathy and Tony are well known within the community and have made many lasting impressions with tourists and locals alike. Unfortunately both their businesses have been affected by the fires and they are without income. I am hoping to help them get back on their feet, keep them from having to uproot their lives and be able to continue to provide for their families.

Derrik, Nyx, SophiaGoFundMeDerrik can’t go back to his house with his dog, Nyx, indefinitely at this point. Help get them back on their feet. The wildfires on Maui left them with nothing. The entire town is gone, and they have to build a life all over again like so many others there. The funds will go to basic necessities like food, water and shelter. Any amount is greatly appreciated. <3

Mike Woo WorthenGoFundMeAloha friends and family, this is Lauraleigh. On August 9th, Lahaina and surrounding neighborhoods were completely destroyed by wildfires combined with high winds. My very good friend Mike Woo Worthen and his brother Jeff lost everything when their home burned to the ground. Cell service is sketchy. He currently has to walk several miles to get food. He and his brother have no roof over their heads. FEMA has told him that he needs to have a home or else they can not help him. He worked at Hula Grill Kaanapali but they have been forced to close due to the fire so he no longer has a job to make money.
This fund is being set up to assist with the many immediate needs such as medicines and medical supplies, clothes, hygiene supplies, food, water, etc. as they begin rebuilding their lives in Lahaina. All donations/funds raised will be given directly to Mike. For those in a position to contribute, any amount is appreciated. If you are unable to contribute financially, please keep Mike and Jeff in your thoughts and share/forward this page to others that might be able to assist. I send my love and thanks to all and anyone who can help in any way

Jaynie Thornton GoFundMeI was flying home from vacation when I saw the news about the Lahaina fire and what felt like days later I finally got a confirmation that my house was completely gone. I still have a job at the Ritz Carlton in Kapalua but I work in the events/banquets department and all events are being postponed and rescheduled for next year, meaning I am sadly out of a job. I’m currently in Arizona where my parents live while I try and regroup and figure out my next steps in life. I’m trying to get back to Maui to find a place to live and apply for a new job.

Anonymous Maui ElderGoFundMeHello my name is Kayla my friend in their 80s who wishes to remain anonymous lost his home in Lahaina yesterday. Him and his dog are safely sheltered in Kahului currently but urgently need to find a more permanent place to stay. I have brought them food and water along with a few new clothing items to get by until we can figure out a place for them to stay. He has some medical conditions and we are also working on getting his medication refilled. All funds raised will go directly to him and I will assist him in his needs as the situation progresses.

Fernandez and Terrenal Family (Freddie, Evangeline, Mark, John, Angelica, Christine, Ofelia, Cherry) GoFundMeWords can't explain the tragedies our family has experienced in the past couple months. It is with a heavy heart that, Jun Terrenal, a father of 3, suddenly passed away due to a tragic accident on July 30, 2023. While his family was grieving and preparing for the burial service, their house and belongings were destroyed by the destructive wildfires in Lahaina on August 8, 2023. We not only lost Jun and his house, but all the belongings of our family who lives there. We are also unable to work as our jobs have also been lost to the fire or closed down due to the mandatory evacuation still in place. We ask for your generosity to help us keep afloat, rebuild & bring healing to the Fernandez and Terrenal family that they desperately need.

Fauhiva ʻOhanaGoFundMeAloha family and friends, these are my parents, Soane and Kalota Fauhiva, & my younger brother Teddy. I’m starting this go fund me to help support my family. They lived on Front Street in Lahaina, Maui. On Wednesday, August 9, 2023, their home along with everything else they owned was lost in the fire. Although I live in the mainland, I’m doing all I can to help them with the things they stand in need of. Basic necessities and medications are priority. The funds raised here will go directly to them, in helping them to stabilize and rebuild their lives.

Emily CohenGoFundMeHi, my name is Jenelle and I'm setting up this GoFundMe for my good friend Emily Cohen. Emily lost her home in the Lahaina fire as well as one of the locations where she worked as a massage therapist (at the Shops at 505, if you're familiar with Lahaina). Emily was the first friend I made on Maui; she was my neighbor in Kahana and invited me to join her at the beach. We became quick friends and even when I moved off island temporarily we kept in touch. Emily has been on Maui for nearly 20 years now, this is her home, and she worked hard to purchase her first condo less than a year ago. I ask that you consider helping Emily on her road to rebuilding her home and healing. Or donate via Venmo

Linda Kelly and RonGoFundMeAunt Linda, & her boyfriend Ron showed true heroism amidst the recent Lahaina Maui wildfires. Through quick thinking, & prayer they narrowly evaded the flames. Their story is scary and traumatic. The destruction extends beyond just her housing – Lahaina itself lies decimated." Linda once found comfort in a senior living complex that now lies in ruins. Circumstances beyond her control have left her homeless, her cherished island home reduced to ashes. Despite losing everything, Linda and Nico emerged with their lives—a priceless gift for which they are grateful. But challenges remain. The flames not only took their home but all of Linda's possessions. Her most immediate need is to find affordable housing & help her with the basics of life—shelter, sustenance, & clothing.

Ulep & Maji 'OhanaGoFundMeAloha, I am writing to you on behalf my family & Joi (pup) in Lahaina who have recently faced an incredibly challenging situation. The recent wildfires have taken away their means of livelihood, leaving them without jobs & daunting the uncertainties. They remain steadfast during a great loss. Miraculously, their home still stands, but needs all the help rebuilding their lives. Their daughter Lexi home in Pioneer mill is gone. Their jobs on front street is gone. We will need all the help for the long and challenging road ahead to restore Lahaina & keep them here to stay! In the collage photo, the backdrop reveals a thick cloud of smoke rising from the wildfire below in Pioneer mill & Kahoma areas viewing on Mauka Lahainaluna from our balcony. Prior to evacuation, my uncle and brother played heroic roles, ensuring the safety of our families residing in the Pioneer mill areas. They took quick action by calling for evacuation, even before the authorities, and ultimately sought safety.

Jonas Preisaitis and Deimante PreisaitieneGoFundMeIn the heart of Lahaina Maui, a devastating fire has reshaped our lives. Me and my husband lived on Luakini St. Our home was open to many people to stay, we had friends, family and strangers come visit. We had papaya, passion fruit, banana trees, lots of greenery. I worked as a manager at the Cafe Cafe, its been my second home and a workplace for 4 years. The fire destroyed it all. My husband Jonas started as a landscapper in Lahaina, however couple years later he started a limousine business. It was a success, with many bookings for Proms, different parties. For four years, we have diligently forged our livelihoods as a limousine-driving team, our base at Lahaina Harbor – a harbor that now bears the scars of the fire's wrath. All is gone now.

He also has been severely traumatized from this experience. Mahalo for the love and support!

Travis Waipa Jr. & FamilyGoFundMeRedcross said we no longer qualify for emergency disaster shelter assistance and we have until (12/21) updated date (1/4) at 11am to check out. I'm a 26yr old Single Dad who was just catching cracks from life in the first half of 2023 but in June things started to take a turn in the right direction. I had no behind bills, finally leaving family home and signed lease to our own apartment, was working a high paying easy money job 5min from new apartment, and when the fire happend I got stuck for a while, then got onto phase 1 cleanup then got laid off because they no longer needed laborers but I am still on a standby list for phase 2 which I hope is soon because I'd rather be working then doing this honestly but to beable to breathe and think comfortably I'd need to raise money.

Lana AlbrightGoFundMeAloha, my name is Jewels and this is for Lana Albright who lost her home in the Lahaina fire. Lana’s dog Vinny passed away unexpectedly in June of a heart condition and then Lana lost her home a couple months later in August. Lana first donated all donations she received to her friends with multiple generations in a household. As time has gone by I know she could use some help as she navigates her own next chapter. Lana lost everything in the fire except her car. I know she is still paying off vet bills for her dog who passed away, needs new tires for her car and just found a place to move into! I know she could use all the household items she once worked so hard for and once had.
Lana loves the ocean. She lost all her fish, dive and surf gear in the fire. I hope she can get some water gear to get back to her happy place in the water spearfishing and is able to reset and truly relax again. Lana didn’t want to do a gofundme so I took over her phone. She has taken care of others and I know she deserves to be taken care of too. Mahalo nui loa!

Daniela MallosGoFundMeDaniela is my daughter who is now 21 years old. Residing in the beautiful Lahaina, she dedicates her time to working at Sail Maui, a renowned excursion company. However, tragedy struck on August 8th when a devastating fire engulfed the entire town, including the cherished harbor. Daniela managed to flee with only the clothes she wore, losing her home, car, and all her possessions in the process. Despite this immense setback, her love for Maui remains unwavering, and she is determined to stay and contribute to the rebuilding efforts. Any form of assistance would be greatly appreciated to help Daniela regain stability and support the community she holds dear. With her unwavering commitment, she plans to actively participate in the cleanup and rebuilding endeavors.

Jesus Hernandez Villalobos GoFundMeHi, my name is Jesus. My brother and I lost our home in the fire on Kahako St. We've been living in Maui for 16 years and were in our home for 11 years. We've always been landscaping in Lahaina. We were able to get some part time work doing yard cleaning but work is slower since the fires. My brother has diabetes. He got an infection on his left foot and now it's spread to the other leg so he can't work and is dependent on my income. Unfortunately, we don't qualify for a lot of the aid. Our family (spouses and children and grandchildren) back in Mexico are also reliant on our income. It was never easy but before the fires we were able to support them somewhat. Now we can't even support ourselves. The day of the fire we lost everything. We got out of our rental with only the clothes on our back. Due to lack of good command of the English language and not knowing where to go for help for 22 days, we were homeless. We didn't know where to go and we slept in an abandoned cars. We are now able to stay Honokowai temporarily but they can only guarantee us housing till January 1. We will then be moved to another temporary arrangement but don't know for how long. Any donations are much appreciated. The money will go to medication for my brothers treatment. We are saving to get our own rental without assistance so we can be independent again. Thank you for your support.

Elda Grijalva (Yaslin and Adair)GoFundMeHi My name is Elda Grijalva, I have lived in Maui for the last 22 years. I have 3 kids and 9 grandchildren. On August 8th my daughter Yaslin (25 years old), my Adair (6 years old) and I were living together. At the time of the fire I was working at Spinakers Wainee Lahaina and I had to jump from the second floor of a house I was cleaning on front street to save my life. My mother had passed away four years ago. I prayed and said to my mother that I would be joining her soon. I thanked God for my 47 years of life and I was ready to accept that this was the end. I covered myself with a wet towel and I ran and ran till I found the exit. I fell to the first floor and twisted my ankle and could not stand up. After I fell, I went to the hospital and they found a tumor. I submitted myself to surgery on November 7th to remove the tumor. Unfortunately I lost my job due to the fires. My goal is to get back to work. My daughter and I are striving to get back on our feet. We are doing all we can to get by and keep up with paying our bills. Any help is greatly appreciated. Aloha

Jose and Maria EsteGoFundMeHi this is Maria Este and my husband, Jose. We've been living in Maui for 20 years and during our time here we've been working at the restaurants, cleaning yards and doing house cleaning. At the time of the fires, our home and jobs burned down. So far we are grateful for the limited assistance we have gotten so far but it's far from enough to get back to have my own dwelling and the independence we had prior to the fires. I want to make clear that it's so hard to ask for help but it's not easy without work and housing so our dream is to get back to work to be able to be independent as we used to be for 20 years. Thank you for your heart and support.

Lori ApoGoFundMeMy house burned down in Wahikuli after evacuating at 9pm on August 8. I did not know my house was gone until Aug. 10. Three generations have lived in that house since the 60’s. I was fortunate to live there for 33 years with my mother. The photo attached shows the kapa pili I had just finished making 2 days earlier for my nephew’s birthday in August. It was on the chair when I left and I believed I would be back home in the morning so I decided not to take it with me. Wrong decision! We all know the outcome and devastation. I left the house with a few clothes, my radio and cel phone and water. The recovery is overwhelming on all levels.

Keahi-Durrell Family GoFundMeOur family has been in Lahaina for decades, and never thought we'd ever experience the overwhelming tragedy of August 8th. After the fire destroyed Lahaina town we've had increased financial strain, with limited to no income. We're a family of 3, my son is 10 years old. It's not easy to ask for help. However it's only been through the generosity of others that we've gotten this far. Between the holidays, and our monthly bills, money is extra tight. Our home barely survived, it faces a lengthy renovation due to smoke and ash damage, so we are still currently sheltering through the Red Cross. We greatly appreciate any assistance. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas, and that 2024 will be a better year for us all.

Carol Ah PuckGoFundMeCarol Ah Puck and her husband, Kaia, were born and raised in Lahaina. On August 8, 2023, at around 4:30 p.m., Carol and Kaia decided to pack their bags, grab the dog, and head to their son, Teddy’s, house in Kaanapali, only a few miles north. Unfortunately, Carol and Kaia’s house did not survive the fires. They lost everything in their home, other than what they were able to pack, and the few items that survived the fire. Many of her other family members have also lost their homes to the fires, including their family business, Nagasako Okazu-ya/Deli (@nagasako.okazuya on Instagram). Her family’s presence in Lahaina goes back to the early 1900s when her Great Grandparents started a candy shop on Front Street. Since then, the family business has changed from a candy shop and grocery store to a large supermarket for the Lahaina community, then downsized to a small General store and Okazu-ya/Deli. Currently, Carol, Kaia, Kamalani, and Carol’s mother are staying in a hotel provided by the Red Cross. They have to check in every 4 days due to the amount of people who are in need of a place to stay. In addition to losing their home, the insurance company is not covering even close to the amount that they need to rebuild as prices for everything have skyrocketed. Kaia has gone back to work but Carol & Kamalani is still recovering from the trauma of losing their family home. The home where they have raised their own 3 children, 2 granddaughters, and the countless many other children in the Lahaina community that Carol has cared for.
