Welcome to THE HILL STEM ACADEMY Website!

This is a resource for all the STEM classes for 6th, 7th and 8th grade. The STEM Units covered in my classes include: Design and Modeling, Automation and Robotics, Magic of Electrons, Science of Technology, Flight and Space, Energy and Environment, Medical Detectives, Green Architecture, Introduction to Robotics, Computer Science for Innovators and Makers, App Creators, and Computer Science Discoveries. Our STEM curriculum is a unique combination of Project Lead The Way's Middle School Curriculum (or PLTW Gateway), our district's MS Robotics, and a constantly renewed Computer Science course (CS Discoveries) by Code.org. We are the first school in Dallas ISD to offer the full range of PLTW Gateway Curriculum. In addition, we were one of the two only schools in Dallas ISD who received the PLTW/Verizon Grant to pilot Introduction to Computer Science course in our school. In our technology-rich engineering lab, we build pasta cars, robots, playground models, rockets, pull toys, among several other fun and engaging inter-disciplinary, real-life, real-world STEM challenges.

In addition, we receive engineer visits and guest speakers from Texas Instruments, Accenture, Amazon, among other community partners.

Our multiple field-trips throughout the STEM program include visits to: Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, University of North Texas College of Engineering, University of Texas at Arlington, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Facility in Fort Worth, Amazon Fulfillment Center in Fort Worth, Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Fort Worth, Perot Museum of Nature and Science, Earth Day at Fair Park and... Space Center Houston - NASA!

All of this makes the STEM Program at Robert T. Hill Middle School STEM Academy the most unique, comprehensive, and the BEST choice for the quality education that you deserve!

Students go through a rigorous application process in order to be part of the Hill STEM Academy. It is a privilege to be in the STEM program. It is expected that all Hill STEM Students lead by example and follow the
