New Moon in Sagittarius ~ Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost

Is there such a thing as a Sagittarian without metaphorical holes in their shoes?

Sagittarius knows no fences. Even if physically bound to a location by life’s circumstances, the mind will remain free and will always journey to some distant place ~ real or imagined.

Where do you want to go?

We can keep ourselves busy with projects for the New Moon, but we can also use this time to wander ~ “to go where no man has gone before” and to experience true freedom and a journey of the mind and spirit. It may seem trivial to suggest spending the New Moon daydreaming, but there’s luxury there and whole new worlds to explore. The bounty that Jupiter has stored in your imagination is enormous, richly rewarding, and just waiting to be tapped. Explore it. Indulge it. Wander a bit.

Sagittarius will take you to the very edge of the precipice and tempt you with enchanting views of every path untraveled, every vista uncharted. Uranus will say, Jump!, but Sagittarius will devise a way to go beyond the edge, past the precipice, into unknown territory. The precipice will be nothing more than an image in the rearview mirror.

Not all those who wander are lost.
~ JRR Tolkien

This quote has been loosely transcribed into various forms, especially Not all who wander are lost or All who wander are not lost. Oddly enough, this quote about wandering grounds me. It helps me feel like I’m not crazy, if you know what I mean, and that my search for meaning actually has meaning.

A Little Background on Tolkien

Tolkien had Sagittarius on the IC (the 4th house cusp) squared by Jupiter in Pisces. He was one of those who was born under a wandering star.

He had a “foreign” birth, born in South Africa to English parents. After his father’s death, the remaining family returned to England. He moved around a bit during his childhood. After his mother’s death, a Catholic priest (Jupiter) acted as a type of guardian while he was boarded in other homes. Yes, he wandered, but he was not lost.

I bet you’re not, either. Even if you’re wandering ~ or wondering ~ you’re on your way.

Home is made for coming from, for dreams of going to.
