KIT digital Powers Launch of China United Television

SHENZHEN, CHINA and NEW YORK, NY, May 17, 2011 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- KIT digital, Inc. (NASDAQ: KITD), a premium cloud-based software solutions and technology services provider for multi-screen video delivery, announced today that its KIT Platform, a multi-screen IP video software solution, will power the new China United Television (CUTV) project.

CUTV is a new media platform developed by a consortium of 19 leading television stations and newspapers throughout the People's Republic of China, led by the Shenzhen Media Group. The new platform was unveiled on May 13 at the China International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) in Shenzhen, Guangdong province.

"We are excited and honored to be selected by this new nationwide consortium of television stations to distribute content over multiple screens to millions of viewers across China," said Kaleil Isaza Tuzman, KIT digital's chairman and CEO. "We believe KIT digital was selected because we are uniquely able to bridge the gap between the traditional digital video systems and new IP-based solutions. CUTV will offer Chinese users an unparalleled experience to view content from multiple local TV stations on an over-the-top (OTT) basis, and enable anytime-and-anywhere TV access by households nationwide." The KIT Platform provides CUTV with a scalable platform that hundreds of provincial and municipal TV stations across China can join over time. With just one click, viewers can watch live TV programs, video-on-demand or catch-up video on computers and popular mobile devices including Apple i-devices and Android handsets.

"We are thrilled to provide our category-leading technology to this major project in China and usher in a new era of Chinese TV entertainment that is interactive, integrated and socially-driven," added Steve Chung, KIT digital's managing director for Asia-Pacific.

"With Beijing as our regional headquarters and another major office in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China is clearly central to our growth strategy in Asia, and we are committed to providing Chinese TV stations, telecoms and large enterprises with our full suite of IP video solutions to accelerate their growth and expansion." KIT digital has also formed a strategic partnership with Shenzhen Sun Camera Web Technology Co., Ltd. to help localize its products for the Chinese market. Together with Sun Camera, KIT digital will be providing ongoing support and maintenance of CUTV's cutting edge platform.

Lu Yue, CEO of Sun Camera Digital Co., Ltd, commented: "Sun Camera is looking forward to working with KIT digital to bring Chinese IPTV to global standards. From our base in Shenzhen -- which is the heart of the high-tech zone in China -- we are dedicated to introducing KIT digital's world-leading video solutions to Chinese customers. With KIT's revolutionary technology, we look to bridge the market gap of video asset management systems (VAMS) in China and meet local demands."
