Agreed. The mechanical stuff serves a purpose, but there's certainly something to be said for leaving a little something to the imagination once in awhile. Sometimes you DON'T want to walk away feeling like you might just be able to clear the bar on a pass/fail gynecological exam.

It's like grabbing a burger on your lunch break from work vs. making reservations, putting on a tie, and going someplace with candlelight, tablecloths, and a wine list. One is a means to an end designed to satisfy a basic animal need for awhile, and the other is something intended to be relished for the higher sensory experience.

A place in the Quarter started a burlesque show revival a while ago, and it's gotten rave reviews. Nice to see that stand out against the nudie bars that have overrun Bourbon Street.

I think the point is that it's growing gradually. People are getting used to the pervasiveness of smut in the Internet age, and are starting to get more sophisticated tastes in smut. No surprise, really.

This. I always hate it when women abuse the term "Reubenesque" when they really mean "War-Pig".

Other similarly abused terms are curvy, stocky, zaftig, voluptuous, buxom, etc. These words have meaning, and it generally is "hourglass figure". Hourglass, not sundial.
