How to Stay Polished & Poised vs Shiny & Sweaty
Summer is in full swing! Most of us will find ourselves at a pool, lake or a sweltering outdoor shindig at some point between now and Labor Day. While sometimes a clean, bare face makes sense for a day at the pool with the kiddos, what happens when you decide on an impromptu Target run on the way home? Are you suddenly mortified that your face which seemed so fresh that morning, is now blotchy, red & sweaty? Or maybe you've been invited to a lake party, and just want to look put together, without looking like you've tried too hard. Perhaps it's an outdoor BBQ, where you are pretty certain whatever makeup you apply that morning will have long since been sweated off by dinner. WHAT TO DO?
There are a few tips you can follow this summer to keep yourself always looking your best! Keep reading to learn more!

Pro Tip #1 - Headed to the pool? Use a moisturizer with a healthy amount of sunscreen in it, and go one step further by mixing in a little of your foundation. You've now created your custom tinted moisturizer! Apply with your fingers as you would any other moisturizer, but the added foundation will give you just a hint of coverage to help "take the edge off"!
Pro Tip #2 - You may want to be as clean faced as possible, but can't leave home without addressing your dark under eye circles. Skip foundation, and choose a lightweight concealer that's one shade lighter than your skin tone. (Your full coverage concealer will look way too heavy with this technique if you aren't wearing foundation!) Add that under your eyes and in those dark inner corners to instantly brighten your face with minimal effort!
Pro Tip #3 - If you want a full coverage, polished look but fear you'll sweat off the makeup (outdoor wedding, anyone?), give your face a light dusting of powder BEFORE applying your foundation, then use it again to set your face when you're finished. Yes, you read correctly: powder before foundation. Then again after. This is a great trick in the heat, because it locks in your makeup better than anything! Finish your look with a setting spray for that extra insurance and that will also bring your skin back to life and remove any excess powder finish.
Pro Tip #4 - At the pool or beach, keep the lips glossy. (For a more formal outdoor event, you could choose a simple satin finish lipstick.) Glossy lips, in a bright summer shade, with a pair of sunglassess...DONE! Effortless, hydrated, and chic. In the bright sun on a fun and casual day, nothing looks worse than a dry, matte lip in a heavy shade that looks like it took you 2 hours to perfect with your lip liner. Gross.

FAVORITE FIND OF THE SUMMER!
These cloths are AMAZING for quickly & thoroughly removing your makeup at the end of the day! They are packaged dry (which also make them a perfect choice for travel) so all you need to do is wet, wipe & rinse! One cloth is large enough for your whole face. While I am a longtime fan of the Neutrogena Makeup Remover wipes, these are larger, non-irritating, and because they are packaged dry, you don't have to worry about them drying out. Frankly, they just perform better for cleaning the whole face! And they are budget friendly, at $8.37 for 66 cloths! You can find them at Walmart! (Side note: Walmart, in my opinion, beats out CVS, Walgreens & Rite Aid for the most inclusive & up to date drugstore makeup section!)
