Job Description
Looking to break into the glorious world of food writing? mise en place (mepNYC) is looking for a Digital Food Editorial Intern. mepNYC is a fast-growing food-tech company based in New York City that strives to bring the communal spirit back to dinner. We make home cooking easy, flexible, and healthy for individuals that enjoy cooking, but don’t have the time (or skills) to prepare a meal from scratch. mepNYC believes in spending less time in the kitchen, and more time around the table. Interns become intimate with all aspects of web production and content development. Interns should have an inherent understanding of blogs and content websites, and the role they play in people’s lives through both desktop and mobile channels. An interest in food and cooking are a must.
Responsibilities
- Write and edit digital editorial content
- Produce content for our blog, website, and social media
- Brainstorm and coordinate compelling seasonal content
- Write and edit content for customer emails
- Coordinate email campaigns
Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of and passion for food and cooking
- Top-notch writing and editing skills
- Prior knowledge of basic HTML/Prior knowledge of basic HTML/wordpress and website backends
- Love for online content, blogging, and the digital sphere
- Comfort with Microsoft Office, Photoshop and Google Docs
- Must be available at least 2 full days/week to work in our Manhattan office
- Video and photo skills are a big plus.
