Mortal Coil is a story about a man named Ash, who is lost between life and death. His body is hospitalized, in a comatose state, but his soul is in limbo. Ash's spirit is able to visit his loved ones on earth but only as an unseen specter or as a day dream. His spirit visits his family in the present and in his own recent past to seek answers. He is a tortured soul unwilling, or unable, to move on to the afterlife.
