We are partnering with Volcano Theatre and Canadian Stage to bring artists a rare opportunity to work outside their comfort zones in a risk-friendly environment with two world-renowned creative powerhouses: Kiki Katese (Rawanda) and Rachael Maza (Australia). These workshops invite participation from all kinds of artists who are looking to expand their horizons and delve into the political undertones of making art.

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA

Feb 16-26 | Theatre Projects Manitoba Following a hugely successful run at the Sydney Festival in Australia, Huff by Cliff Cardinal returns to Turtle Island with a two-week run in Winnipeg. Friends in Manitoba can catch this award-winning production, part of Theatre Projects Manitoba's 2016-2017 season. Following this stop, the Huff team will continue on our 2017 international tour. Aluna Theatre is currently seeking proposals from artists across Canada for CAMINOS 2017, a festival focused on work from the Pan-American Diaspora and Indigenous Artists. CAMINOS is a week of new performance proposals and works-in-progress from risk-taking artists working in theatre, dance and inter-disciplinary practices in Canada. Submissions are due Monday February 13.

Feb 15-26 | Buddies in Bad Times Known as a festival for experimentation, this year's Rhubarb includes work by Indigenous artists Justin Many Fingers, Brian Solomon, and Gein Wong. Plus Nasty Kwe by Manifest Destiny's Child, a blend of sketch comedy, stand-up, and traditional territorial rivalry, featuring Melissa Deleary, Courtney Skye, JL Whitecrow, Lena Recollet and Denise Booth Mcleod with Adrian Sawyer.
