Literature revealed that only 22% of patients with chronic
subdural hemorrhage had outcomes worse than "good" or "completely recovered".8 Timely and optimum management averts grave complications.3 Treatment is aimed to return every patient to previous daily life, and is often achievable.4 A multitude of surgical drainage procedures are available but clear-cut guidelines are jeopardized and scanty.
According to the doctor, "Eighty per cent of those who suffer from
subdural haematoma lose their lives, if they do not receive prompt treatment.
When we reviewed the literature, we found that the cases of SDH developed following vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty were usually caused by slow infiltration of epidural hemotoma into
subdural space after dural injury during operation (12).
The cranial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination showed a
subdural hematoma in the left fronto-parietal area, which was 6 cm thick in the largest part, was causing a 2-cm-thick midline shift, and also contained a large number of septations (Figure 1).
The first cranial CT performed 8 months ago revealed early subacute
subdural hematoma around 36 mm in width leading to a midline shift (Figure 1).
A
subdural haematoma is where blood collects between the skull and the surface of the brain.
Subdural haematomas are potentially deadly and can cause seizures, coma, behavioural changes, headaches or vomiting.
Dr Nick Scriven, president of the Society for Acute Medicine said: "Risks in any accident like this are concussion or even a
subdural hematoma following a head injury."

It also has been reported that it may lead to various problems such as infection (eg meningitis, cerebritis, peritonitis), excessive drainage of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and rarely
subdural hematoma (SDH) (3-6).

subdural empyema (SDE), epidural abscess, cavernous sinus thrombosis, and thrombosis of other dural sinuses, have become uncommon.[1] However, SDE is still a life-threatening disease entity.
