Responses to the Spendthrift-Tightwad survey featured in Sunday's column are still rolling in. But of 260 submitted so far, Scott Rick says, the results are striking:
In Rick's past surveys, 25 percent were tightwads and 15 percent were spendthrifts.
"We have never had a U.S. sample with a higher proportion of tightwads," reports Rick, a lecturer and post doctoral fellow at The University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business.
