David Cage, CEO at Quantic Dream, confirmed the reports, telling Kotaku, "We're suing their journalists," during a preview appointment for the studio's upcoming game, Detroit: Become Human. At the time of the initial report, Cage called the allegations "ridiculous, absurd and grotesque," and the studio issues a statement on Twitter echoing Cage's denials, stating that "inappropriate conduct or practices have no place at Quantic Dream."
Le Monde journalist, William Audureau, maintains that his exposé was "written sincerely, following a well-documented, thorough investigation, respectful of the principle that both sides must be heard."
According to Canard PC's publishing director, Ivan Gaudé, the outcome of the case rests on the two outlets involved demonstrating that they contacted the involved parties, offered their viewpoints, and used "the appropriate caution" during the reporting process. It's incumbent on them to show that they were fair and reported the story in "good faith." Shabana is a freelance writer who enjoys JRPGs, wine, and not finishing games.
