AS OF 7/1/23, due to the large amount of applications we get, RACE4Ran is only able to consider applications for:

Spays/neuters (if approved, we will cover 100% up to $300)
Routine vaccinations (if approved, we will cover 50% up to $150)
13 emergencies that require immediate vet consultation and/or care, as defined by the American Veterinary Medical Association (https://bit.ly/13avmaer or see list below) (if approved, we will cover 80% of a final bill of $1-$299 or a flat $300 for a final bill of $300 or more)

***PLEASE NOTE that per our policy, funds will ONLY be paid DIRECTLY to CLINICS/VETS/PHARMACIES/OTHER ENTITIES, or as a donation to other 501(c)(3)s, involved with the pet's care, AFTER the procedure/treatment is done!***

WE CANNOT...

Pay or reimburse individuals
Pay on a care credit account
Prepay for services not yet rendered
Pay if there is a $0 or negative balance (i.e. already paid), thus leaving any credit on the account
EXCEPTION: we can "donate" to other 501(c)(3) entities AFTER an invoice/statement of account or copies of paid invoices is provided

13 emergencies that require immediate vet consultation and/or care, as defined by the AVMA (https://bit.ly/13avmaer):

Severe bleeding or bleeding that doesn't stop within five minutes
Choking, difficulty breathing or nonstop coughing and gagging
Bleeding from nose, mouth, rectum, coughing up blood, or blood in urine
Inability to urinate or pass feces (stool), or obvious pain associated with urinating or passing stool
Injuries to your pet's eye(s)
You suspect or know your pet has eaten something poisonous (such as antifreeze, xylitol, chocolate, rodent poison, etc.)
Seizures and/or staggering
Fractured bones, severe lameness or inability to move leg(s)
Obvious signs of pain or extreme anxiety
Heat stress or heatstroke
Severe vomiting or diarrhea – more than two episodes in a 24-hour period, or either of these combined with obvious illness or any of the other problems listed here
Refusal to drink for 24 hours or more
Unconsciousness
