ELIE Circle, LLC. is hosting a pilot program Monday-Thursday June 24-August 1, 2019 9a-2:30p focused on exposing 6 teens to social work careers. Teens (ages 14-21) will spend the summer learning the basics/fundamentals of social work and trauma-informed care through speakers, shadowing experiences, experiential learning, and a culminating project to showcase their learning. Experiential Learning topics include leading support and educational groups, facilitating active listening sessions, community organizing, researching, and managing mock cases.
ELIE Circle, LLC. is a training and consulting business to equip individuals with a trauma-informed approach to address trauma. It was founded by Debralyn Woodberry-Shaw, a University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work grad and a licensed social worker.
This pilot program is a partnership between ELIE Circle, LLC., the Homewood Children’s Village (an organization working to improve the lives of Homewood children through service and research -
www.hcvpgh.org), and Partner4Work: Learn and Earn (a program providing job opportunities to teens -
www.partner4work.org/learnandearn). All teens will come from the Homewood Children’s Village Learn and Earn provider site.
