FWISD Tech Idol
Welcome to the FWISD Tech Idol Competition! We are searching for innovative teachers in FWISD that use technology to enrich the classroom experience. We will have 2 winners this year, an Elementary Tech Idol (EC-5) and one Secondary Tech Idol (6-12).
How does it work?
Stage 1: Open Nominations - October 14, 2019 to October 28, 2019
Stage 2: Auditions - Elementary (Pre-K - 5th) and Secondary (6th - 12th) participants will prepare a digital presentation or a Flipgrid explaining how they meet one or both of the following goals using technology.
Goals:
- Effective Use of Digital Integration in the Classroom
- Teaching and/or Modeling Effective Digital Responsibility (Digital Citizenship - Common Sense Media)
Deadline: December 1, 2019
Stage 3: Top 12 - The 12 contestants who are selected to move on to stage 3 will plan and teach a lesson in their classroom that showcases their ability to incorporate technology. Your friendly Tech Idol coaches will visit your classroom to watch your lesson in action.
Stage 4: FWTC 2020 - The 3 Elementary and Secondary Finalists will be interviewed on stage at FWTC. The judges will ask questions and guide discussion. The audience will cast their votes and the WINNERS will be selected at the Fort Worth Technology Conference on January 25, 2020.
Nominations will be accepted through October 28, 2019.
