What is a temperature blanket?

Temperature blankets are knitted or crocheted blankets that use weather data to plot out the order of the colors used in the blanket. Generally, the blankets use a year's worth of temperature data.

The colors can be arranged in any regular pattern such as rows or squares. The example shown here is a bias blanket with two rows for each day, one corresponding to the maximum temperature and the other to the minimum temperature. There are options to insert a separating color between day and/or months and as the first and last few rows.

The locations here correspond to the ten largest cities by population in the US as well as Washington, DC and a few custom locations.
