The sound quality of the dav-dz170 home theater is outstanding and to give credit where it's due all the features are excellent!, The subwoofer has plenty to give when it comes to great TV audio and superb DVD / iPod sound quality. Very inexpensivley priced as well, an obvious bonus.
Setting up dav-dz170 is simple task but takes a little effort, so make sure you allow yourself enough time to position all the wiring for the rear speakers, connect up everything and do some testing. There’s quite a good amount of speaker wire but, depending on how your room layout is you might need to figure out various ways to lay out the speaker wires for the backs of the speakers. If If you can't position two of the speakers to the rear of your room then you can adjust the sond settings accordingly for all the speakers located when in front. Don't worry to much about this set up procedure as the system comes with a 1-2-3 Step easy set up instructions with a more detailed instruction booklet aswell.

Everything from the Speaker cords, input jacks, and speakers are color coded and clearly labeled. There is also a disc included to run as part of the set up procedure for the speakers and for testing the system. However, some of the steps are a little confusing than is necessary because the diagrams of certain components [e.g. TV, Cable Box, Sony Receiver] won't be labeled. When you or someone else is setting the system will clearly see what needs wires need to be connected, but it’s not always obvious as to which component [cable box or TV].
The Fiber Optic audio and HDMI video cables wil nOT included when you purchase so you will need to buy them separately. They will or should be listed as a seperate purchase to be included with your order if needed. It does however include a cable for basic video connection. The Fiber Optic audio cable (recommended for best quality audio) can be purchased for about $20-25 retail. [If purchasing the fiber optic cable, make sure to remove the small clear covers at each end of the cable before trying to connect it to the receiver and cable box or TV.
The remote control unit is quite small but, very handy and simple to use.
The Front connection for an iPod, which works great and there’s an antennae for FM radio as well.
