Summit Entertainment’s “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1” presents the wedding of Robert Pattinson’s vampire Edward and Kristen Stewart’s human Bella and the near-fatal birth of their half-vampire daughter.
At Thursday’s Four Seasons junket, Pattinson admitted, “I knew that the story was kind of crazy,” but quickly added, “It was terrifying, going into the birth scene because of the violence and stuff in it, especially to Edward who’s always held back and logical about everything.”
The thesp found himself “stuck between an emaciated dummy’s legs, chewing through a placenta and getting cream cheese and strawberry jam all over your face — and then pulling out a three-week-old baby out of that, a ‘baby’ with a wig on.”
For Nikki Reed‘s vampire, handling Bella’s “baby” meant real acting. “It was a rubber baby a lot of the time, really well made but rubber,” she revealed. “There was also a mechanical baby with a man at my ankle pushing buttons. Sometimes it would grab my eye. The real ones were great, they didn’t cry as much as they could have.”
At the junket, Reed also revealed her most unusual fan encounter. “One time I had a girl who asked me to marry her. Which I thought was awesome. I said, ‘Are you 18?’ and she said, ‘No, but my mom said it’s OK when I am.'”

There’s no hard feelings between NBC and Brian Grazer for the quick demise of “The Playboy Club.” The Imagine topper was among a slew of producers, writers, directors and actors who gathered at West Hollywood’s Eveleigh last week to toast the Peacock’s new leadership team and the new name on the door at Universal Television. Creatives roaming through the restaurant’s many rooms included Jason Katims, Jeffrey Reiner, Peter Horton and David Shore, along with tenpercenters including WME’s Ari Greenburg and Paul Haas, ICM’s Ted Chervin and Paradigm’s Debbee Klein. Sean Hayes and his Hazy Mills producing partner Todd Milliner made the rounds collecting congratulations for the solid preem of their U TV/NBC drama “Grimm.”

Sam Mendes and the key cast of “Skyfall,” the official title of the 23rd James Bond pic, descended upon London’s Corinthia Hotel on Thursday for a press conference to launch the project.
Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem and Judi Dench joined longtime Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson along with new Bond girls Berenice Marlohe and Naomie Harris in a packed press room, where journos hoped to learn some details of the anticipated pic, skedded for release in Blighty on Oct. 26, 2012.
But things were neither shaken nor stirred in the room as, after Broccoli and Wilson confirmed the title, very little about the plot was revealed.
“This is an odd press conference,” said Mendes, “because I can’t give much away.”
But he assured journos that the film would contain “a lot of action” and would lense in London, China, Istanbul and Scotland.
When asked about what kind of training the thesps had to do to prep for the action-packed pic, Bardem quipped, “I had to learn a lot of English vowels.”
“I’ve got nothing as dangerous as that,” said Craig.
