Mars Petcare, through its fundamental science centre, the WALTHAM Petcare Science Institute, has been a WSAVA partner since the early 1990s when Andrew Edney, then a Mars Associate, was WSAVA President. Its early involvement included supporting our annual congresses and CE work, developing the Hereditary Disease Committee and sponsoring the WSAVA WALTHAM Award for International Scientific Achievement. In this picture, taken at World Congress 2008 in Dublin, Ireland, Dr Karyl Hurley, Director of Global Scientific Affairs for Mars Petcare, is presenting the Award to Dr Peter Moore, Professor of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Also pictured (right) is WSAVA President Dr Brian Romberg.
Today, as a Diamond Partner, Mars Petcare supports the WSAVA’s Animal Wellness and Welfare Committee, the Hereditary Disease Committee, the One Health Committee and the Global Nutrition Committee through Mars companies including Royal Canin, WALTHAM Science Petcare Institute and Wisdom Health. |
