Embarking on culinary adventures with my son is always a privilege I hold dear. Michael and I perpetually is always in pursuit of the elusive 'Best taco in...' quest, found ourselves in #Memphis, TN at. In the span of 24 hours, we unearthed a gem Las Delicias.
If this place was good enough for Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations then I know I have to eat here. We ordered one of every #taco on the menu and meticulously savored every flavor a revelation. Memphis, a city renowned for its BBQ, surprised us with its prowess in Mexican cuisine. A testament to the boundless diversity of flavors waiting to be discovered. #TacoTales #MemphisEatsHelpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 23, 2023Updated review
This place is in a strip mall and has limited parking. I have never had a problem finding parking.
Plenty of college students come here so it is inexpensive and plain.
I usually order carry-out but I decide to eat in this time. The service is good and they definitely give you more food for dine-in then they do for take out.
We had chips, salsa, queso, fish taco, gringa taco, and chicken & steak burrito. All the food was great. The chips, salsa, and queso were good but nothing spectacular. The fish taco was better than expected. The gringa taco was the most flavorful dish. The chicken and steak burrito was filled with so much meat that I couldn't even close it.
I will return.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0Mar 26, 2023Previous reviewThis place is in a strip mall and has limited parking. I have never had a problem finding parking.

I ordered the Cuban sandwich. The sandwich is huge and tasted great.Jun 19, 2022Previous reviewI have been going here for a while and decided to switch up my order to try something new.
I got the gringa taco. This taco is loaded with shredded cheese, pork, and a pineapple slice. This taco is amazing and I love the sauce that came with it. I also got the Milanesa (breaded chicken) sandwich. It tastes great and is loaded with jalapenos. I ordered the All in One.
This order was quite a bit more expensive than what I usually get but I was happy and full beyond belief.May 23, 2022Previous reviewPrivate parking lot and very easy to spot from the street.
This is one of my favorite spots because the food is very inexpensive.
Decent food for a great value. This place is close to the University of Memphis so they probably cater to the college crowd when it comes to price and quality.
They have recently added some seafood options and increased the prices. The increase in price also comes with more food so it is a good trade off.
I got the Cuban Torta and Steak Quesadilla. Both are extremely good.Oct 13, 2021Previous reviewPrivate parking lot and very easy to spot from the street.

I ordered a steak burrito and two tacos. Everything was pretty simple and tasted great. Entire meal costed ~$11. Happy I came and I would gladly return.

This place is still amazing years later. They are consistently good and serve fantastic quality food that's a good mix of authentic and non authentic. They are always super busy so be prepared for that when you visit- don't expect to get in and out of here quickly unless you order to-go.
Their chips are still fantastic and still some of the best in the area. My favorite thing is still the horchata and pork chop taco, which is a unique thing I haven't seen anywhere else. I think it's best with pico de gallo. The chorizo tacos are also really good but the al pastor and chicken are just ok. Still, this place is a favorite for a reason and I love coming here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Nov 14, 2014Previous reviewMy husband and I came here a while back with a friend at 5pm. At first the place was pretty empty, but I wasn't fooled- I've been unable to dine here before late on a Friday night because the place was so packed. In fact, as we ate, the main dining room slowly filled up without me noticing.
The horchata is pretty amazing. I kept stealing sips from my husband. I was really impressed because it didn't have that chalky aftertaste that a lot of places seem to infect their horchata with. The salsa was pretty good but oh my goodness the tortilla chips are indescribably good. Ok, I'll try to describe them anyway. They're flaky and crunchy with a flavor all on their own which complements the salsa well. The salsa by itself was ok, but with those chips it was transformed into something wonderful. Everything from their texture to their taste was fantastic.
But enough about chips: Bring on the tacos!
I ordered a pork chop taco for the heck of it but I really wasn't expecting much. However, he liked it and I was delightedly surprised by how wonderful it tasted. It was bursting with flavor and is my new favorite taco there. Sadly, their tacos al pastor fall flat. The flavor was ok but mostly lacking. The chorizo tacos punch you in the tastebuds they're so packed with flavor. They were a little too intense for me, but they were still amazing and hubby loved them.
I did notice the service was lacking quite a bit. - we ran out of chips, barely saw our waitress, had to request a to go box, sat for awhile before realizing we pay at the counter, etc. She seemed super busy and was running around, but when I went to pay there were like 5 women just standing behind the counter chilling out... which was extremely odd as the place was getting very full by that point. But the food was good enough to carry this on to have 5 stars.

I've been here before a few years ago with a group of friends and I remember being really impressed by the tacos, so I made sure to get some. I got the pork chop to try something new and the al pastor because it's a classic favorite of mine. Hubby got chorizo, al pastor, and the gringa, and agua de horchata. Friend got the All in One fajitas.

I ordered a pork chop taco for the heck of it but I really wasn't expecting much. I even made my husband try it first to make sure he liked it and would eat it in case I hated it. (I'm not sure what my logic was there since if he hated it he wouldn't eat it and if I hated it, too, I wouldn't either... I guess I wanted him to be the brave one first haha).
The gringa just wasn't good. A Mexican taco slathered with cheese and thrown into a flour tortilla? No. Go home Tex-Mex, you're so drunk you're in the wrong restaurant. To be more specific, all I could taste was cheese and all my husband could taste was meat but we both agreed the flour tortilla was icky and it wasn't something we would want to try again.
I did notice the service was lacking quite a bit. even when the place was pretty empty. We actually ran out of chips while waiting for our food to arrive (which seemed to take longer than usual but may have been because we had stopped munching on chips and salsa) and it seemed like we barely saw our waitress. I had to tell her my friend needed a box (she didn't suggest it like they do at most places) and we sat there for a long time before realizing we needed to pay at a counter in the corner of the room (she never mentioned it to us). She seemed super busy and was running around, but when I went to pay there were like 5 women just standing behind the counter chilling out... which was extremely odd as the place was getting very full by that point. So one star down for off service and for that mockery of an al pastor taco!!!
I suppose it might not be the most authentic of places since most of the clientele are white (my husband noted that he was the only Mexican in the place). I noticed most of the diners were college students, so I think it being so close to the University of Memphis is a good reason for this. It is a little americanized (it has a menu online!) but not enough to really affect the food too much in my opinion. Regardless, the food was pretty authentic to me.

All in all, we enjoyed ourselves here. My friend gave me his fajitas to take home as he dislikes leftovers of any kind (more for me!) and hubby and I agreed it's a place we would love to return to. - Brooke H.Southaven, MS031Oct 9, 2022
hands down the best street tacos. and they have the BEST chips. I haven't ordered anything else there (besides their guacamole- which I'd give a 7.5/10) because the tacos hit EVERY. TIME. If you're wanting a super "americanized" type of Mexican, I would choose a different place. My parents (who don't love street tacos) have ordered different menu items here and they would give the place a 3.5-star rating. So take my opinion with a grain of salt.
In short- if you want amazing street tacos, this is your place.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Antonio W.Nashville, TN06Dec 19, 2023
By far the best Mexican place in Memphis. I love their chips, salsa, and guacamole. I found this place at random and was not disappointed. My whole family also loves this place.

The service was really good, however I was not impressed with the flavor of the food. The shrimp were tiny for the upcharge. The prices are very good and the atmosphere was really nice. Very clean, tables no booths, good wait staff. I had a burrito with chicken, steak and shrimp. Hubby had chicken and shrimp fajitas

We really enjoyed eating here. My wife and her sister had the chicken and beef enchiladas, respectively, with mole sauce and I had the mixed fajitas (alambre style) with corn tortillas (she brought me 9!). Plus, the queso con chorizo and guacamole were great and the chips were perfect. We were also pleased with the salsas. One wouldn't expect so much good food for so little money! Even though we ate in the middle of the day, the place stayed busy and our server hustled the whole time.

I came here with a party of 6 at the recommendation of a co-worker. We ordered the streak burrito, chicken taco salad, cheese dip cheese enchiladas, shrimp quesadilla, chicken quesadilla and streak torta without the beans. Everyone finished their meal with no complaints. 2 of us adults had never been to this location before and we said we want to come back again. My friend did say that the one on Quince is quieter as it had some separated areas. Most of the restaurant at this Park location was open floor with a packed restaurant during a Thursday lunch hour. Everything was well seasoned, well cooked, generously portioned and reasonably priced. I personally added some of the cheese dip to my torta. I definitely recommend that. The waitress was quick, especially for a busy and packed restaurant. She memorized our order, so kudos to her memory and brought fresh baskets of chips without us asking. She was truthful when she offered a refill on my horchata and I asked if it was free (it wasn't). They even had to-go containers for the cheese dip. We were all full. My petite friend and as full after eating half of her burrito. It was a very pleasant experience.

The poblanas are excellent. The mole sauce really is to die for. Service can be kind of spotty but worth the wait. Reasonable prices. I highly recommend Las Delicious! If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, this is the place.
