What does the All Access Pass Ticket Fee go towards?

This is solely to cover our expenses in buying out the entire hotel for the weekend — including 2 pools, the Amigo Room, the stargazing deck, the Clubhouse, & the Commune. It will only be Yay-Sayers at the hotel Friday, July 8, 2016 at noon through Monday, July 11, 2015 at noon. (Hotel room check-in at 3pm)

The ticket fee does not include food, beverage, or your hotel room. Please see the questions below for more information on reserving a room at Ace Hotel.

What's the YxYY Scholarship Pool?

We want people from all walks of life to have the opportunity to attend Yes and Yes Yes. This year we’re excited to offer a limited number of full scholarship tickets. A scholarship ticket is $0 and gives you full access to YxYY003 at the Ace Hotel, Palm Springs. This does not include transportation, lodging, food or beverages.

If you apply for a scholarship ticket, you are not guaranteed a spot at YxYY until the ticket has been granted. In order to guarantee a spot immediately you must purchase a full price ticket.

Scholarship ticket grants will be announced privately to the individuals.

Hotel FAQ

If I stay at the Ace Hotel, do I have to stay all 3 nights?

Yes. The event organizers are on the hook for the hotel buyout and so we need to fill the Ace for the entire buyout. In order to stay at the Ace Hotel for YxYY, you are required to a book a room for all 3 nights.

How do I reserve a room at Ace Hotel?

Purchase the “All Access Pass” on Eventbrite
In the ticket registration process, choose the type of room you’d prefer (or choose ‘waitlist’ if you have no preference - doesn’t affect your place in line!)
Wait patiently for the Ace to call you (starting 3/28)

YOU ARE NOT GUARANTEED A ROOM BY PURCHASING A TICKET

You are technically not reserving a room (or paying for it) via Eventbrite. When you say YES to a room during ticket registration, you are entered in a queue for a room. The Ace will call people in this queue until rooms are full. If you don’t get a room, you’ll be on our waitlist and will have access to rooms as they open up. We will send an email to you indicating that the Ace is full.

You will have 2 weeks to respond to the Ace once they contact you. If they do not hear back from you will give your room to the next person on the list.

NOTE: DO NOT CALL THE ACE DIRECTLY. They are not accepting any reservations for the days of our event online or via the phone, and you will be turned away. Once you’ve requested a room via Eventbrite, the Ace will call you back.

I got a ticket, but the Ace Hotel is sold out. What do I do?

Not to worry! There are several excellent hotels very close to the Ace Hotel. You’ll have an event badge and have 24-hour access to the Ace.

We are also encouraging people to share rooms. Check the room share spreadsheet to see if anyone wants to share a room or a bed!

I’d like to stay at the Ace Hotel for a couple extra days. Is there a discount?

Yes! YxYY has exclusively reserved the hotel for Friday check-in through Monday at noon. They have offered YxYYers 15% off their normal rates for days before or after that if you'd like to stay!

Event FAQ

When should I arrive/depart?

We have the Ace booked from noon on Friday through noon on Monday,which means most people will arrive some time on Friday and leave Monday afternoon. You’re more than welcome to book beyond those days if you’d like to arrive earlier or depart later. Registration opens at 1pm on Friday and the event officially ends at noon on Monday. Booked rooms at the Ace will be ready by 3pm on Friday.

Are children allowed?

We are encouraging folks to do whatever they need to do to be really present at the event, since the purpose of YxYY is to fully engage with the other attendees. Towards that end, if you can’t come without your children, we encourage you to have ample childcare during the event. We realize this is not possible for everyone, and so we are flexible. We'd rather have you, however you can come! If you do bring your children, please remember that you are solely responsible for their safety on the property, particularly in the pool and their behavior throughout the event. Children 18 and above are considered participants and will need to have a purchased ticket to the event. If you’re bringing a caregiver who is not also a participant, we will supply them with a wristband so they can access the property.

Are there any events or activities planned?

There are three anchor events -- a Welcome Cocktail Party on Friday night at 7:30pm, Saturday night “Prom” at 9pm, and our 2nd annual “Wake up & Yes” morning dance party at 8:30am Monday. However, the primary concept behind YxYY is that if you gather intelligent, engaged people that even in the absence of a traditional conference structure & set schedule, great things will happen.

There will be fun activities popping up around you as participants bring things to share, but there are no pre-published schedules aside from two anchor events. Read more about our ‘unscheduling’ in How To Say Yes.

I'd like to volunteer before or during the event – who do I talk to?

That's great! There are several volunteer opportunities. To sign up for one, please fill out this form. If your specific brand of volunteering looks something like DJ’ing, please fill this one out. We’ll be in touch to coordinate.

I’d like to sponsor the event, who do I talk to become a YxYY Partner?

We think of our sponsors as partners who bring collaborative experiences to the event. It’s an excellent opportunity to do more than contribute your typical conference schwag. Refunds / Cancellations / Transfers

What if something comes up, and I can't attend? Can I get a refund?

YxYY TICKET REFUNDS/TRANSFERS

Tickets are refundable up to 30 days before the event (6/8).

Tickets are transferable up to 14 days before the event (6/24).

All ticket refunds and transfers will be done via Eventbrite. Here’s how:

Change the info on your order or ticket, including:

Change the name on a ticket or registration
Update information you provided at registration
Transfer a ticket to someone else

How do I request a refund? Follow the instructions on Eventbrite and if you’re within the reimbursement window, we’ll approve the request!

ACE HOTEL CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS/TRANSFERS

The rules about canceling are related to our contract with the Ace, and are not their normal cancellation policy. Payment is required when you book your Ace Hotel Room.

Given that the 5 of us are not able to financially cover folks that cancel at the last minute, we have been clear from the beginning what our expectation is of YxYYers who book at the Ace. When you book, you are on the hook for your room.

That said, we usually have a long hotel waitlist, so we may be able to help you transfer your room. Contact Nichole Gregg at Ace Hotel (760-866-6194) Monday to Friday from 9am-4pm. She will be able to see if someone on the waitlist can take your room. No one else at Ace Hotel is authorized to do hotel transfers for YxYY.

As we get closer to the event, it can be more difficult to fill hotel rooms. Let us know as soon as you can and we can best help you find a taker for your room!
