Are you ready for an uproarious evening of wordplay, trivia, and comedy? Then come see The Crossword Show make its Bath, ME debut at The Grant Building on Thursday, October 26. Host Zach Sherwin will preside as two guest panelists solve an actual crossword puzzle live onstage, with everything displayed on a big screen so the audience can follow along.

HOW IT WORKS

As the solvers decipher the various clues, Zach takes the show down hilarious and mind-bending rabbit holes of music, wordplay, and trivia, all inspired by the answer words. Best of all? Everything ties together at the end for a grand finale that’s as satisfying as it is astonishing. You don’t need any crossword expertise to be dazzled by this brain-tickling, life-affirming show!

ABOUT THE HOST

Zach Sherwin is a published New York Times crossword author and Los Angeles-based comedian. His writing for the web series Epic Rap Battles of History has received numerous Streamy Awards and Emmy nominations, and his performances as everyone from Albert Einstein to Stephen King to Alexander the Great have amassed nearly one billion YouTube views. His own music & wordplay videos have millions of views, too, and his other writing credits range from The CW's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend to MAD Magazine.

Zach's TV appearances include America's Got Talent, Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, The Pete Holmes Show, and more!

ABOUT THE GUEST SOLVERS

Phuc Tran is an author, educator, classicist, storyteller, and tattooer. His TEDx talk was featured on NPR’s “TED Radio Hour,” and his memoir “Sigh, Gone” was published by Flatiron Books in April 2020.

Terri Schurz owns and operates Bath’s beloved and independent Mockingbird Bookshop. (While The Crossword Show is indisputably bookish and word-oriented, we have never before had a guest solver who was an ACTUAL BOOKSTORE OWNER, and we can’t wait to have Terri join the panel!)
