Rainbow Week! 3.29.13 Purple & Blue Day - Family Lunches

It's the final day of Rainbow Week 2013 - Purple & Blue Day!

Purple Lunches!
Daddy has lunch at work this Friday, so I made a purple and blue lunch for my friend Lisa from Explayration
Applesauce: 15g, Yogurt: 13g
The Boy is still sick - but starting to feel better.  Still not well enough for school, but well enough for a more normal lunch (I hope).  For snack, he has Chobani Champions Very Berry yogurt and some blueberry applesauce.
Purple cauliflower: 4g, grapes: 5g, blueberries: 4g, bagel & cream cheese: 30g, chips: 3g

His lunch is some roasted purple cauliflower, purple grapes, a blueberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese, blueberries, and some blue potato crisps from Naturebox in the little container.


The Girl's snack is a purple plum and some Chobani Champions Very Berry yogurt.


Her lunch is roasted purple cauliflower, purple grapes, a blueberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese, blueberries, and some blue potato crisps from Naturebox in the little container.


Lisa has roasted purple cauliflower, purple grapes, blueberry cream cheese on rainbow bread, blueberries, and some blue potato crisps from Naturebox in the little container.

I have roasted purple cauliflower, purple grapes, blueberry cream cheese on rainbow bread, blueberries, and some blue potato crisps from Naturebox in the little container.

Our lunches are all packed in our lovely Easylunchbox boxes.

Rainbow Week! 3.28.13 Green Day - Family Lunches

Grand Green Family Lunches
Thursday is Green (and Blue) Day - I went mostly with the Green, because Friday is Purple & Blue Day, so I can save any blue for that... except for snack.  Blue for snack this Green (and Blue) Day.

Cauliflower: 3g, melon: 5g, applesauce: 15g, peas: 2g, cucumber: 1g, crackers: 5g

The Boy is *still* sick.. so his Sick Day Green Lunch is roasted green cauliflower, honeydew melon, Granny Smith applesauce, green Goldfish crackers, cucumber slices, and a couple sugar snap peas.  He also has a Chobani Champions Blueberry yogurt (not pictured, 9g).


The Girl has some Chobani Champions Blueberry yogurt for snack (not pictured).  Her lunch is a wrap on a spinach tortilla with hummus, spinach, cheddar cheese, and ham, sugar snap peas, green Goldfish crackers, dried kiwi, and roasted green cauliflower.


Daddy has a wrap on a spinach tortilla with hummus, spinach, cheddar cheese, lebanon bologna and ham, sugar snap peas, cucumber slices, honeydew melon, and a couple pieces of dried Naturebox Granny Smith apple.


I have a wrap on a spinach tortilla with hummus, spinach, cheddar cheese, lebanon bologna and ham, sugar snap peas, a few wasabi peas, cucumber slices, honeydew melon.

All of our lunches are packed in our trusty Easylunchbox boxes

Rainbow Week! 3.27.13 Yellow Day - Family Lunches

Family Lunches for Yellow Day

Wednesday = Yellow Day!
Applesauce: 15g. yogurt: 13g, cauliflower: 2g, pineapple: 5g
The Boy is home sick again, so he has Sick Day Friendly yellow food - applesauce, Pineapple Caramel Chobani Bites yogurt, pineapple, and rpasted yellow cauliflower.


The Girl's snack is applesauce and Pineapple Caramel Chobani Bites.


Her lunch is a rainbow bread kitty sandwich (cut with a Cute-Z-Cute cutter) with ham, hummus, and shaved yellow carrot slices, pineapple, roasted yellow cauliflower, yellow Goldfish crackers, and a lemon Girl Scout cookie.


Daddy has a lebanon, ham, and hummus sandwich with shaved yellow carrot on rainbow bread, along with a Colby Jack cheese stick, pineapple, and yellow bell pepper.


I have a lebanon, ham, and hummus sandwich with shaved yellow carrot on rainbow bread, pineapple, yellow cherry tomatoes, yellow carrot slices, and roasted yellow cauliflower.

All of our lunches are packed in our trusty Easylunchbox Brights boxes.

Rainbow Week! 3.26.13 Orange Day - Family Lunches

A quartet of orange lunches for the family today, celebrating Rainbow Week in the school district!
Orange Family Lunches

First, The Boy... who came home yesterday with a fever and generally feeling icky.  Poor kiddo is missing a field trip to a local theatre, and I thought at least I would send him to my dear mother-in-law with a yummy, sick-boy friendly Orange Day Lunch.

Melon: 5g, yogurt: 13g, applesauce: 15g, cheese: 1g
He has some peach applesauce, an Orange-Vanilla Chobani Champions yogurt, along with a colby-jack cheese stick and some cantaloupe. 


The Girl's snack is a peach applesauce and Orange-Vanilla Chobani Champions yogurt.


Her lunch is a roll up with hummus, shredded carrots, ham, and shredded Mexican cheese on an orange (roasted red pepper) tortilla, along with orange cherry tomatoes, ranch dressing, baby carrots, orange Goldfish crackers, and a clementine.


Daddy has a roll up with hummus, shredded carrots, ham, lebanon bologna, and shredded Mexican cheese on an orange (roasted red pepper) tortilla, along with orange cherry tomatoes, an orange baby bell pepper, ranch dressing, cantaloupe, and orange Goldfish crackers.


I have a roll up with hummus, shredded carrots, ham, lebanon bologna, and shredded Mexican cheese on an orange (roasted red pepper) tortilla, along with orange cherry tomatoes, orange baby bell pepper, a clementine, and orange Goldfish crackers.

Rainbow Week! 3.25.13 Red Day - Family Lunches

It's Rainbow Week in our school district!  Each day has a different color, and I'm playing along in our lunches.
Family Lunches - Red Day

The Hubby and I will have colored lunches, too, because it is easier to pack them all at once. 

Applesauce: 15g, Chobani Champions Yogurt: 9g

The kids first - They both have the same snack for Red Day.  Berry applesauce and a strawberry Chobani Champions yogurt.
Radish, pepper, & hummus: 2g, Strawberries: 5g, apple slices: 4g, Goldfish crackers: 10g, blood orange: 3g, sandwich: 30g
The Boy's Lunch is radishes and red bell pepper with hummus, strawberry slices, red Goldfish crackers, red apple slices, a brown sugar broiled blood orange, and a sandwich on my homemade Rainbow Pain de Mie with cheese, lebanon bologna and ham.


The Girl has strawberry slices, a brown sugar broiled blood orange slice, red Goldfish crackers, apple slices, a couple red cherry tomatoes with hummus in the red lego container, and a sandwich on my homemade Rainbow Pain de Mie with cheese and ham.


Daddy has red bell pepper and cherry tomatoes with hummus, strawberry slices, red Goldfish crackers, red apple slices, brown sugar broiled blood orange, and a sandwich on my homemade Rainbow Pain de Mie with lebanon bologna and ham.


I have cherry tomatoes, strawberry slices, red Goldfish crackers, red apple slices, brown sugar broiled blood orange, and a sandwich on my homemade Rainbow Pain de Mie with lebanon bologna and ham.

Rainbow Week 2012 - Recap!

Lunch: 4.13.12 - Rainbow Week: Blue & Purple Day


The Girl's Blue & Purple Day snack is blueberry applesauce and a purple smoothie - see The Boy's lunch for more info on the smoothie.

Her lunch is roasted purple cauliflower, prunes, half a plum, a purple dyed hard boiled egg, and some blueberry mini muffins.

Lunch for The Boy: 4.13.12 - Rainbow Week: Blue & Purple Day

It's the final day for this year's Rainbow week, Blue & Purple Day... it's a bit of a challenge for blue and purple food, but I've managed to pull it together, I think!

Applesauce: 15g, purple smoothie: 20g
His snack is blueberry applesauce, and a purple smoothie.

Today's smoothie is plum, strawberries, blueberries, kale, and yogurt.
Purple cauliflower: 3g, raisins: 16g, Goldfish crackers: 10g, egg: 0g, mini muffins: 24g

His lunch is roasted purple cauliflower, raisins, purple colored Goldfish crackers, a purple dyed hard boiled egg, and some blueberry mini muffins.

Lunch: 4.12.12 - Rainbow Week: Green Day


The Girl's snack is a Granny smith applesauce and a green smoothie.


Her lunch is roasted broccoflower, half a kiwi, green grapes, kale chips, a green colored hard  boiled egg, sugar snap peas, and some spinach veggie dip.

Green Day!
Applesauce: 15g, smoothie: 15g
The Boy's snack is some Granny Smith applesauce and a green smoothie.


The smoothie today has kiwi, banana, honeydew melon, yogurt, and kale.
Grapes: 4g, kale: 1g, green cauliflower: 2g, apple: 4g, peas: 3g, dip: 3g, egg: 0g
Lunch is roasted broccoflower, slices of candy crisp apple, green grapes, kale chips, a green colored hard  boiled egg, sugar snap peas, and some spinach veggie dip.  It's a pretty low carb lunch... I think I might encourage him to have his smoothie with his lunch... Just so that he has enough to sustain him to the afternoon.

Lunch: 4.11.12 - Rainbow Week: White Day


White Day!  No smoothie today.  Snack is some plain applesauce (close enough to white), and a hard boiled egg.


The Girl's lunch is some cheddar popcorn, apple pieces, roasted cauliflower popcorn, some yogurt raisins, and cheddar cheese on an English muffin.

So, I know... white isn't in the rainbow, but it's part of the kids' rainbow week at school.

Applesauce: 15g, egg: 0g
No smoothie today.  Snack is some plain applesauce (close enough to white), and a hard boiled egg.

Popcorn: 5g, apple pieces: 8g. english muffin sandwich: 26g, cauliflower popcorn: 3g, yogurt raisins: 13g
His lunch is some cheddar popcorn, apple pieces, roasted cauliflower popcorn, some yogurt raisins, and cheddar cheese on an English muffin.

Lunch: 4.10.12 - Rainbow Week: Yellow & Orange Day

I love Rainbow week!

Snack is a smoothie in an Oxo Tot Blocks container, with pineapple, banana, apple juice, and frozen peaches, along with a Biscoff sandwich on fresh rainbow bread.


Lunch is some parmesan roasted yellow cauliflower "popcorn," a cutie clementine, pineapple, an orange dyed hard boiled egg from Easter, a little Easter egg container with orange and yellow Goldfish Space Adventures crackers, peach applesauce, and half an english muffin with cheddar cheese.

Lunch for The Boy: 4.10.12 Rainbow Week - Yellow & Orange Day

It's another Rainbow week day!
Rainbow bread & biscoff: 30g, Smoothie: 17g
Snack is a smoothie (in an Oxo Tot Blocks container, frozen tonight, hopefully it will thaw out in time for snack... the Red Day smoothie didn't quite thaw for snack, but The Girl tells me it was thawed by lunch!), along with a Biscoff sandwich on fresh rainbow bread

The smoothie for Yellow & Orange Day is pineapple, banana, apple juice, and frozen peaches.  I skipped the greens because I didn't want to mess with the color.

Cauliflower: 3g, cantaloupe: 7g, carrots: 2g, egg: 0g, Goldfish *in egg*: 8g, applesauce: 15g, english muffin & cheese: 13g

Lunch is some parmesan roasted yellow cauliflower "popcorn," cantaloupe, carrots, an orange dyed hard boiled egg from Easter, a little Easter egg container with orange and yellow Goldfish Space Adventures crackers, peach applesauce, and half an english muffin with cheddar cheese.  Not exactly colored right, but yummy.
