Ask Me Something (Something Series Book 2) Kindle Edition
How do you ask a question you know will change everything?
My entire life, my focus has been on one thing: my career. As the newly promoted vice president of a New York based advertising company, I’ve earned a fierce reputation. But my new position isn't without its challenges.
My boss, Brian Carpenter, is my polar opposite. Where I'm high-intensity, he is easy-going, Southern charm. For the eight years of our friendship, there have been flirtations, innuendos, and electric chemistry. But anything more could damage the position I’ve worked so hard to earn. Even worse, he could discover my carefully guarded secret.
I thought things were better off that way... until I discovered he might be with someone else.
Shocked by my own emotions, I can't help but wonder if I missed my chance. Is it too late to admit my feelings? Or can I gather the courage to take the leap, knowing once I do, nothing will ever be the same?
This is a full length standalone book with no cliffhanger and the second book of the “Something Series”***Ask Me Something is for mature audiences due to steamy bedroom scenes that are in no way contained to just the bedroom.***

In this story our main characters Sasha & Brian have worked together for years in the advertising industry and are the best of friends. When a promotion comes along she takes it but it means she has to move away and makes him her boss. Sasha’ may be a force to be reckoned with in the business world but on the inside she is fighting a secret she has never told anyone.
Brian is the complete opposite in that he is so laid back and easy going until he is in the bedroom, then things get to sizzling with this hot and sexy alpha male.
I absolutely love all the witty remarks and the easy banter between all these characters and their loyalty and friendships. When these men love they love hard and fast and set the sheets on fire. I look forward as always to all future reads from Aubrey as is one talented author.
I give this book 5 stars.
Sasha appeared briefly in book one of this series and it’s not essential that you read them in order (but I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want too – that’s just madness!) I was instantly taken with the character of Sasha. She’s strong, she’s confident but she’s also very flawed. The way, Ms Bondurant unfurled secret after secret throughout the novel needs to be applauded. There were parts that had me going ‘what!?’ but in a very good way. I even reread sections to make sure I was reading it right, the little nuggets were so good.
Brian. Hmm. He was a toughie for me to gel with. His double standards frustrated me. The part that I loved the most is when Sasha reacted the same way I did. She blew up. She gave him what for! Oh god, it was like watching real life play out in front of me!
This isn’t just a romance book. This is a book about real issues and overcoming those. There are just as many laugh out loud parts as there are ‘oh wow’ parts. It’s nice to have a catch up on the characters from book one and see where they are in their lives. This is a friends (closet crushes) to lovers tale. What I love the most is that she doesn’t need Brian to get past her own hurdles. She does that on her own. Sure, the circumstances and confidence might not have come without him but she did make leaps and bounds on her own. All bar her sister. (You’ll have to read it to understand what I’m referencing).
All in all, this was a one-sit read for me. I mentioned it in the review of Tell Me Something and it’s only fair I mention it here. The cover. Tell Me Something’s original cover just did nothing for me. I have to give high praise, the covers in this series are just perfect. The author has done a great job at branding this series and I can’t wait to read the rest of them. Aubrey Bondurant needs to be on your purchase list, you get quality.
I was given a copy of this book for my honest opinion.
Ask Me Something is the second book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant. After reading the first book and having loved it so much, I though the author would be hard pressed to match that kind of calibre, let alone surpass it. Well, Ms. Bondurant has outdone herself with this Book. It is superb. I was mesmerised by every word, it’s so masterfully written that I couldn’t put it down. It is a contemporary, erotic office romance- and when I say erotic- I really do mean sizzling, nibbling your bottom lip, forget the outside world, and leave a lot of drool marks on your kindle- kind of erotic. Sasha Brooks is the Vice President of the New York branch of Gamble Advertising. She loves her career and has worked incredibly hard to get where she is today. Sasha can come across as cold and unapproachable, does a great R.B.F and has a reputation as a fierce business woman. Sometimes appearances can be deceiving. There are things she has hidden, secret she’s kept from the world, her colleagues and even her family.
Brian Carpenter is the East Coast Regional Vice President for Gamble Advertising and Sasha’s boss. He is very easy going, charming and considerate. Working with Sasha isn’t always easy, but he wouldn’t expect it to be anything less- plus she is really good at her job. They have eight years of friendship behind them- a history of friendly and flirtatious comradery. They also have incredible chemistry. But being work colleagues, it is far less complicated and easier to just remain friends. Right?
When one of them seems to be seeing someone else, will it be enough to get them to admit how they feel? Or is it too late? What happens when ALL the secrets are revealed?
This book had me burning up the pages, soaking up every word- time seemed to stand still while I lost myself for a few hours in this captivating story.
It is quite funny and there were quite a few laugh-out-loud moments- some of the banter and antics were just hilarious.
The characters were wonderful; really well written and fully developed- with their own, individual traits. They grew from their experiences throughout the story and learned from their mistakes. They were realistically written, there was no sugar coating them- they were written with ‘warts and all’. That made the story that much more believable and allowed me to really connect to the characters and the story.
This book is told from Sasha’s POV right the way through till the epilogue, which is from Brian’s POV. It can be read as a standalone (but I also recommend the first book, as it is wonderful and really worth the read).
I really think Ms. Bondurant has really starting to hit her stride now, and the series is only going to get better (and hotter) with each new book. I can’t wait to see what book three is like!
A highly engrossing and very entertaining read!
Thank-you Ms. Bondurant!

The MC's had been co-workers for 7 years, at the beginning of this story. The H is her boss and she's the only woman VP of that advertising company. 3 years prior they almost hooked up but something else happened and they were interrupted. Back to the present, the H propositions the h and they choose to have a secret fling.
The h has panic attacks (anxiety disorder) and considers this a weakness. She's ashamed of what she considers her flaws and insecurities. She comes off as a stuck up witch with a RBF.
The H is the nicest, most easy going guy but he likes to be dominant in the bedroom. He needs to be in control and gets angry when things don't go his way or he gets jealous.
Both the MC's aren't perfect but their imperfections make them perfect for each other. They compliment the other. Very good story and I would recommend. Should read book 1 first.

The reason it doesn't get five stars is that some scenes, mainly the sexy ones, seem copy and pasted from the first book ie what to do when a woman has her period. This leads to some inconsistencies e.g. first the hero is a bit clueless about this, next he is confidently whipping out her tampon to have sex with her! The sex scenes are occasionally a little dirty and there is a visit to a bdsm club and some of what that entails. Not quite the full fifty shades experience but some people might appreciate a warning.

This is one author I will definitely read more of.
