It is no secret that Kanye West has a high opinion of himself, a very high opinion of himself.

But the bonkers rapper is Bound 2 perplex fans with his latest self-comparison.

Mr Kim Kardashian has likened himself to Roald Dahl’s legendary character Willy Wonka, claiming: ‘I’m trying to get as close to a dream state as possible.’

While the majority of the world might think he made a Freudian slip when he called himself a ‘Wonka’, we take a look at some other the bizarre people he has likened himself to for a new Top 10.

10 – Beethoven

In a 2012 interview, ‘Nye compared himself to the genius German composer. ‘I am flawed as a human being… but my music is perfect,’ he declared, adding: ‘You could go back to Beethoven and s***, but as far as this lifetime, though, this is all you got.’ Modest, but at least they are both musicians.

9 – Jay Z

‘Jay Z is more realised than me,’ West said in his now legendary 2013 BBC Radio 1 interview with Zane Lowe. ‘More of his dreams and aspirations have come true. You don’t realise I am so frustrated. Like, I’ve got so much I want to give. … And I’ve got a million people telling me why I can’t do it.’ Wait – does this mean he’s consenting that Mr Z is the better artist? Almost, we think, almost…

8 – Michael Jackson

In the same Radio 1 interview he also compares himself to Michael Jackson. ‘I would not be Kanye West if it wasn’t for Michael Jackson,’ he said. But it wasn’t too humble – as he went on to say he is now better than the Thriller singer. ‘I was able to ascend to massive heights. And I’ve got to a point that Michael Jackson did not break down. I have reached the glass ceiling, as a creative person, as a celebrity and I’ve been at it for ten years.’ Right.

7 – Steve Jobs

In February 2013, the Gold Digger star went on a massive rant while in Paris, voicing his views on pop commercialism and how everyone is out to sell the general public ‘s***’. ‘No matter how they try to control you, or the mother***er next to you to you tries to peer-pressure you, you can do what you mother***ing want,’ he rambled, before declaring ‘I am Steve Jobs’.

6 – Walt Disney

He may now have stated ‘The worst thing about me comparing myself to Steve Jobs is that it’s too realistic of an idea’, but he hasn’t retracted the fact he said ‘I am Walt Disney’ during the same Parisian outburst.

5 – Picasso

As if Walt and Steve weren’t enough, ‘Nye also compared himself to Picasso while in the French capital. If anything, it sounds like he’s had a complete identity crisis.

4 – Barack Obama

Something of a backhand comparison, Kanye tried to get one over the American president by saying his soon-to-be wife Kim Kardashian was better than First Lady Michelle. ‘No one is looking at what [Barack Obama] is wearing. Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day,’ he proclaimed during an interview with Ryan Seacrest in October, saying Kimmy deserved to be asked to be a Vogue cover girl. Although now all we can think about is Mrs Obama doing a ‘belfie’ in a swimsuit.

3 – Vanellope von Schweetz

In one of the most bonkers comparisons, the Love Lockdown star claimed he was just like a female animated character. ‘Have y’all ever seen Wreck-It Ralph? You remember how that girl in there—the people that was racing? She was the glitch. You’re telling me they don’t look at me like the motherf***ing glitch? You’re telling me people don’t look at Kanye West like the glitch? Right now. She was on the side of the video game, the whole time!’ he yelled during his Radio 1 interview – referencing the Disney Pixar character. But seriously… what?!

2 – Jesus

Perhaps we should have realised how delusional Kanye was from the off as one of his first singles back in 2004 was entitled Jesus Walks. But things escalated further this year as he dressed as the holy icon for the cover of Rolling Stone magazine and told Jimmy Kimmel: ‘When I compare myself to Steve Jobs, or Walt Disney… Howard Hughes, David Stern, Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Jesus… I’m saying these are my heroes.’ (So a few other names we haven’t mentioned in there too).

1 – God

Of course comparing himself to the Son of God was not good enough. I Am A God is the title of a track on his most recent album in which he also claims Jesus talks to him. Oh, Kanye.
