The birds seem to have an uncanny ability to know just what an eight-year-old girl wants.

Gabi – or Nature Girl as she says the crows call her – told The BitterSweet Life podcast her favourite present from the crows is a key chain with ‘Best’ written on it.

But she said ‘I don’t know if they have part that says friend’ adding ‘this is a heart from them – it’s showing me how much they love me’.

Gabi’s haul also includes some earrings – though not a matching pair as yet – a paper clip, some nuts and bolts and even a small light bulb.

She now stores all her gifts in bead storage container, each one lovingly put inside a clear plastic bag.

Gabi’s relationship with the crows began accidentally in 2011, when she he was four years old and used to drop food,

Soon, the crows were watching for her, hoping for another bite.

Now each morning Gabi and mum Lisa the backyard birdbath at their Seattle home with fresh water and cover bird-feeder platforms with peanuts.

Gabi also throws handfuls of dog food into the grass and as crows assemble on the telephone lines calls loudly to them.

Then they arrive to ‘give me all the special stuff you could ever find’.
