NATWAII is offering a limited number of scholarships to Taiwanese American/Canadian women to attend the 2014 NATWA Convention held at the Hilton New Orleans Airport in New Orleans, LA. Scholarships ranging from $100 to $400 can be used for travel, registration, room and board and/or NATWA membership. The criteria by which we will decide on the scholarship recipients are:
a) financial need
b) applicant's willingness to be active with NATWA II
c) responses to the questions below
d) geographic diversity (to encourage and support the attendance of women from Canada, New England, East Coast, South, Midwest, So. Cal, No. Cal, and Pacific Northwest)
e) those who have not received scholarships or any stipends from NATWA or NATWA II in the past will receive higher priority. Priority will also be given to first time attendees.
The amount of the scholarship will be awarded on a sliding scale based on the distance of travel.
Applications are due by March 9, 2014 to
natwa2admin@natwa.com. The NATWA II committee will make its decisions by March 10 in order to provide sufficient time for scholarship recipients to make travel plans and other necessary arrangements to attend the convention as well as to register by March 18th so that you can receive the early bird discount on the registration fee. If offered a scholarship, you will need to inform us if you accept it by March 16th.
While the NATWA convention is from Thursday, April 17 to Sunday, April 20, the NATWA II program begins Friday, April 18 in the evening and continues until 12PM Sunday, April 20, with an optional group lunch on Sunday, April 20 if you can stay.
